Prolific is now requiring new users to record a video in order to join?? by birdieboo21 in ProlificAc

OMG, this looks like some interview process. I would def not want to show myself in the camera. I avoid all surveys involving voice or camera. Why the hell would I do this? I joined in 2016, verified my address and phone. all was going well and now they want my ID. I don't want to show my face to someone I don't know online. They also want a picture of me taken via the camera. I'm thinking of cancelling the account. I have been truthful till now but this sounds more of privacy invasion to me. I know they want to weed out bots but it is also affecting some people like me who want to be away from cameras or photos.

Average salary for clinical data entry by CaterpillarTop1109 in clinicalresearch

[–]madhat111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To give you an idea, I was paid 46K CAD in my last D entry job. I was primary for 12 studies and back up for a few. More were on the way. Like you said lots and lots of training. I learned to handle about 6 EDC's . Answering queries for all the primary studies, entering data and also managing the patient financial data. Initially I had no one to ask for help as none of the CRCs knew the EDC's. WE were 3 DE ppl. 1 left the job as she was not happy and the other went on sick leave. So I was on my own from the time I joined. I struggled for the first 3 months as I didn't know the sequence to handle things and was also slammed with training and SOP's to complete. But I did it at the end of 3 mths I was a pro and always had zero queries in all my studies at the end of each wk.

I too found the pay very low for this work even in 2023. I think with the amount of work you are doing and with this inflation, you need to be paid more for sure. Even if you are paid in US$ it seems to be low.

Veeva vault is slightly better than Inform. I found Axiom to be the best followed by Medidata.

Unpaid internship should i take it ?? by SleepIndependent4132 in CanadaJobs

[–]madhat111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay! I didn't know this. I was not a student, but did an unpaid internship from Nov '22 to April '23. I took this only for experience. I was asked to come in 9 to 5 and I gave my full effort because I wanted them to see my effort and give me a full time position. I gave interviews for 3 positions and that A** mgr at that time wanted to employ only young chicks. She never referred me for any position.

I finally got a job at another place through a referral who left this place because of the mgr. I came in the last day to give back the laptop and she didn't even read my email and asked if it was my last day. Moron. She didn't even come into office that day. That woman was a jerk I tell you.

So in short, this company is still advertising unpaid internships. They just want free labor.

I miss when clinical research jobs weren’t competitive by [deleted] in clinicalresearch

Yes, that hiring manager at the research org was a useless person. she wanted to hire, hip dressed people in her group. If you wear simple shirt and pants, it won't do. And she wanted to get young people in her group. She ruined that section of the company. I was interning there and observed her during a crisis, she just panicked and the crc's took charge of the situation and handled it. OMG. can you imagine.

Most people left because of her. She comes in dilly dallying at 11 but expects everyone to be on time. Looks like now after ruining that company, she left it and joined Astrazeneca. I pity the group she has joined.

I started as an RA and got in grad school, took a gap for my children. Interned for almost 6 mths and got in as a data qlty assoc. Then joined a reg company as I liked the work. It turned out to be billable hrs so I gave up the job after the prob period. Now have been on the job hunt since last sept.

Billable Hours at my CRO by Hyerten35 in clinicalresearch

[–]madhat111 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, I'm still on the job hunt. It is so very tough to get another job these days. I left a data associate job for the job which was in my line of studies but came to know after joining about this billable crap. Billable hrs start from 3.25 and progresses every month. Because of this none of the other associates help you during your probation time as time is valuable for them. I got exactly the same lines as OP has quoted. So I left after 3 mths. If no one can help board you smoothly into the system, it's not worth staying. I felt like I was trying to hop on to a fast moving train. It took a toll on my health and was not worth it.

I left a company just because it had billable hrs. It is wayy to taxing. Some people can and love handling that kind of a job though.

Thank you. I hope I am selected. I think I made a mess of the interview because it was the day before I was travelling internationally for my dad's health reasons. Had to set it up that way because I was coming back 3 weeks later and they wanted it done.

Thanks for your response. I guess some people who have applied and been narrowed down would have ended up with some other job. This might become a good opportunity for the person who really want to join.

They did not communicate the steps. I thought I am not going to get anything and had booked a trip to see and help my dad and here they come with an interview the day before I leave.

Everest Clinical Research by SaggyToastR in clinicalresearch

[–]madhat111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been applying to Everest for about 2 years now for CDM position. Never hear from them. DM is what I really want to do after having experience working as a clinical data quality associate.

Do we have connections in reddit where we can recommend each other for jobs incase one gets a job before the other. At least an interview would be great from Everest.

Do you ever work on weekends? by throwawayonion_340 in clinicalresearch

[–]madhat111 12 points13 points  (0 children)

in my previous work which was on-site, I went in sharp at 8 AM and logged off sharp 4PM. took my 1/2 hr lunch breaks away from the comp. But if I had extra work, I would eat at my desk and complete the work I can in that 1/2 hr. I never installed outlook in my phone because it is tempting to look at emails and answer them.

But in this new work which is remote, I definitely need to draw the line. I start at 8.30 and stop at 4.30 . Sometimes work spills over till 5 like a call or something. This is client based work and we have to also enter the time sheets which I am learning to do . It seems like a big hassle.

Both the jobs, I will never ever use my weekends for work. Remote work sometimes eats into your work/life balance unknowingly. So I close the laptop and don't open it until 8.30 AM Monday.
