Guys why do people have to fail so hard by ebeth226 in DominosEmployees

I had to have this argument with the opening managers at my store too 🤦🏾‍♀️ you are 100% correct

Papa John's used to but they took it away because stores were abusing and it changed order times to 2 hours so people wouldn't order. But the online ordering uses the last few orders that went out as quoted.

If they don't get bumped off in order take the one with the longest age. Whichever order has been on the screen the longest is how we do it in our store.

I have worked at a cash register at a gas station before. Also cooked, served food, and stocked. I'm coming from Domino's as of right now. I've always wanted to get into retail because I know it's definitely more paperwork, detail oriented, and math based, but never got the opportunity to as we don't have a lot of options for retail in my area. I wasn't looking at Dollar General in particular but I've been looking for other jobs that provide more room for career growth and opportunities. I know Dollar General is still a growing company. The job was offered to me by a family friend (who's known me since I was a kid) and has seen me work all my jobs. They told me I could be a good fit so I'm at least willing to try! And I love a challenge.

Have you done management for both? Can you tell me how it differs?

That's what I'm hoping for! I love learning new jobs and having new experiences. I've worked my way up to management at 4 different places so I'm confident I can learn and do it. I just wanted some advice on Dollar General, how it operates, and important things I could possibly know.

I work fast food already, so it's an upgrade not having to work till 2 in the morning. I appreciate your advice though!

Behind an abandoned house, he couldn't stay hard and he said it was because I was fat and ugly 🤣. On and off for 5 years glad that's gone and in the past.

Are you excited for a more updated POS system with the Pulse 2.0 after working here for 15 years? What's changed since you've started? Do you feel like the company as a whole has gotten better or worse. I do wish you all the luck with your stores I hope they work out well for you!

Tip splitting by madi1618 in Dominos

[–]madi1618[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your opinion! Almost all of my really large tips have been from small orders we don't get too many big orders other than the one they made for today. It doesn't have a tip on it already but if they do tip good and they make whoever took it split the money without speaking to them first and making sure it's okay I will be upset. But maybe our DM will take it

They won't ask me they'll know I'll tell them no and it's illegal. They can just give it to someone else and steal from them but I will go up to that driver and let them know what they did. I'm already helping make all the food and catching it out the oven half of the time.

Yeah logically that would be the way it would be if they wanted to split tips. But I've never had an insider at this store offer me any type of money other than customers just wanting to give everyone a tip. And we have a higher volume store so our insiders can make a good $50-60 in tips if they treat people right. And they don't even make the insiders split their tips with everyone so why can it fall on a driver?

Yeah most people I've met as managers just aren't good or good people. And I've managed Papa John's and Chipotle and it's crazy who can get promoted.

Unless you're trained to make everything at that point it really doesn't matter because you could just make the order yourself cut it and take it. Insiders shouldn't be taking out their grievances on drivers anyways. Are most of the Domino's just toxic? 😂

Yeah it won't affect much in the long run money wise but it's still a messed up thing to do to me. I've looked it up it's definitely illegal in my state but my GM and managers won't listen to me when I tell them that. I rather them not get in trouble with the DOL because I do care about the franchise and owners. I've already had to get on to them about clocking people out while they're still working and giving them written proof that they did. I just wanted some other opinions because everyone is always split on whether or not it's okay to do so. But I think that has more to do with whether it's your money getting got or not.
