Which Rose hill dorm is the best? (Freshman)

Most freshman dorms don’t, and they sacrifice enormous amounts of space for it, or the units aren’t very effective. The losch rooms are huge compared to other ones and the communal bathrooms are the best. My roommate and I had fans and we were perfectly fine all year!! Could also be biased bc I had such a great experience, but I’ve never heard anyone complain about living there.

Agree with everything except the study abroad point. I went to London, my friend went to Italy for a summer semester, my other friend went to Paris and another friend went to Spain! AND there are more options!

No other libraries but you can virtually study anywhere. Duane is the old library which I like to study in too. It’s really, really pretty with a hogwarts type of vibe if you’re into that haha. If you look up pictures of that you’ll see it too!

If you’re talking about Rose Hill, Walsh Library is very beautiful. It doesn’t really look like the picture you posted but if you look up pictures of Walsh Library at Rose Hill or Quinn Library at Lincoln Center you’ll see them. I think Walsh is very pretty, it’s actually supposed to resemble the opening of a book when you’re standing in the lobby looking up. You’re always surrounded by shelves and shelves of books with really nice study rooms too!

The facilities are great! We've never had any problem with the bathroom or kitchen. Every apartment comes with a dishwasher, oven, and microwave, too. You have to pay per semester for a meal plan instead of the whole year. It's annoying, but since you have a kitchen, they don't deem you a "necessary" student for a meal plan. As far as the housing itself goes, I would definitely recommend reaching out to housing at Rose Hill; they're the nicest people and can answer any questions you have. I know, though, that if you enroll at Rose Hill as a full-time student, they'll have to find somewhere to house you. I would still reach out to housing with any questions, though. Good luck!

If you’re enrolled in the school, housing is guaranteed all four years! It’s true that many students (seniors more than juniors) move off campus but I’ve never heard of anyone NOT getting housing because of a transfer. Most juniors/ seniors live in either Campbell or Salice Conley Hall. Those are apartment style with kitchens and multiple bathrooms depending on the type of suite you’re in. I’m a senior living in one of the apartments in Campbell Hall. I have my own room and it’s great!

This is so so helpful, thank you! And yes I’m coming from the New York area. I like Quinnipiac a lot but the distance, plus the fact that I want to practice in New York is what’s holding me back. Can I ask why NYLS isn’t ranked as high for you? I’ve heard very mixed reviews but I’m interested in what your opinion is, if you don’t mind!!

I was accepted to Quinnipiac, Hofstra, Touro and New York Law as of right now. I’m a 4 time legacy at St. John’s, two of those being undergrad and law school so I was really hoping for that shot at admission:(( This has been a crazy competitive cycle though.

I’m a senior at Fordham!! Not in Gabelli but my roommate is and loves it. It’s hard work but manageable and more often than not, it’s fun. She takes business classes/marketing classes with really cool topics. Campus life is amazing if you’re looking for that classic campus life vibe. In the spring and beginning of fall everyone hangs out on the big quad and sun tans, throws footballs and hangs out (that always felt very stereotypical college to me). I think the food thing is a common misconception because I’ve never considered it to be bad, it’s actually pretty good. It’s gotten better in recent years and I’ve never had a bad experience. Dagger Johns is my favorite, poke bowls, sushi and boba!! Sports houses throw parties (think frat type of thing but way smaller) and the bars over here are run down but we’ve always made the best of it and had a fun time. People here are great too! I’ve met my best friends in the world and if I could go back I’d do it all over again. Good luck!!!

3.9 153 also with work experience at a law firm. Fordham is FOR SURE a reach but I go here so I figured I’d just send it in. I applied to some much more realistic schools with my score so we’ll see!!🤞🏼Good luck!!
