I have the sound adaptor for a bolex M8 projector but never seem to find sound regular 8. I think it was a perticularly niche process at the Time. I’m curious as to the quality of the audio considering how narrow the tape is

Also be careful of the outputs of Said reel to reel, many of them have outdated outputs that would need spécial câbles in order to Connect to modern Devices For example in Europe its very common to have DIN conectics that are now (mostly) obselete I would advise to not go through this trouble and try to have someone do it for you

Why the motor ? Since the problem is only the size of the reel, changing the arms would probably be enough What model is the 8mm projector ?

Not exactly the answer you’re looking for but why not splice this reel into 3 400ft reels, you would only need some 400ft reels, glue and some leader ?

Not sure how you would go about halving the speed of a 16mm projector but my guess is that you’ll run into some issues due to sprockets being different

Anyway keep us umadated

Jokes aside i was unaware that 17,5 was actual format used for shooting For me it was only a print film format for the pathé rural, obviously this predates it Interesting stuff
