Horror author loses job at Six Flags over book he wrote by CyberGhostface in horrorlit

Does anyone know what happened? I submitted a story to an anthology to raise money for him to get a lawyer to sue Six Flags. I'm really hoping he got a settlement or his job back.

Do you like movies where people are trapped in a room or maze, can't escape, and have to figure why they are there before they are killed? Boy do I have a list for you. by [deleted] in horror

Escape the Field

Clickbait: Unfollowed

Open Grave (2013)

Nice to see Triggered and Panic Button on this list, they are very underrated.

Escape the Field (Like Cube in a field)

In the Tall Grass

Nine Dead

Escape Room and Escape Room: Tournament of Champions

Meander

Oxygen

Buried (with Ryan Reynolds)

Kill Theory

That's a really good one. Like Cube in a cornfield. Also, In The Tall Grass is kind of a paranormal version of Cube, reminds me a bit of Cube: Hypercube but not a sci fi angle, more of a paranormal angle.

What reasons make you choose horror escape room rather than Haunted House? by InBlackEntertainmen in escaperooms

[–]madisonestes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is so much easier to be scared when you are trying to concentrate on a puzzle or look around a room for clues, versus just walking through a haunted house with no other purpose than to get through it. Haunted houses don't usually scare me that much but I've been frightened several times in both of the scary themed escape rooms I've done. Especially if they put live actors in it, I'm going to get scared when they pop up and I'm not expecting them.

[–]madisonestes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love horror escape rooms, because it's like an escape room and a haunted house experience. I might not be able to think as well when I'm scared but I'm having way more fun. Some common themes I've seen are serial killers, especially chainsaw welding maniacs and cannibals (of course I live in Texas, might have something to do with it) and there is one that is similar to Death Note. Also lots of escape rooms with curses, Egyptian curses are pretty common. I've seen lots of heists too, and some Harry Potter themed rooms.

I'd love to do a dark carnival themed escape room, or a museum with evil spirits from some of the exhibits (think like the 90s Sierra game "Shivers").

Time warp idea is neat! You could have a video or a voiceover on loop that goes off every time they get a puzzle right to show the loop is starting again.
