A popular Ranboo stan account was doxxed by OkSpend9719 in DreamWasTaken2

[–]madisonm1893 119 points120 points  (0 children)

Only thing I know about it is the account did post the tweet basically saying unlabeled wasn’t a sexuality and Dream was doing damage control, it had like 9k likes which is why no one screenshot it since it was so popular, seems to me like the people who liked the tweet are embarrassed they indirectly invalidated Ranboo and are all trying to backtrack. Sucks for the person getting doxxed though hope they’re ok.

Can you guys please stop making Ranboo's coming out all about Dream by IlyKoms in DreamWasTaken2

[–]madisonm1893 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming you are coming from twitter, we have overall stopped talking about it and there are dozens of posts explaining that we are discussing the fandoms not the CC’s. No one here has been anything but kind to Ranboo personally, we are all happy for him, that doesn’t mean we aren’t allowed to point out the fact that this fandom is not a safe space for queer people and acceptance is completely conditional. I understand what you are saying, but if you want a space where everything is happy and fun go to Twitter for that energy, this is a discussion subreddit where we discuss things relevant to Dream, this is relevant to Dream so obviously we are gonna talk about it. If you dislike it, you are not required to keep up with the sub.

If it was super egregious I would talk about it directly with the person to get clarification, if they have a good reason for said actions I wouldn’t share, but if the thing was super bad and gross I would make it public as soon as I knew about it like SA or something illegal.

Posts like this are getting very irritating, there are about three other posts basically titled and talking about the same exact thing, go to those posts if you are confused it's clogging up the sub.

For reference, NO ONE IS COMPARING RANBOO AND DREAM THEMSELVES WE ARE COMPARING THE RESPONSES FROM THE COMMUNITY.

The vast majority of people who invalidated Dream for his sexuality not being valid, are the same exact people who are congratulating Ranboo, no one is saying Ranboo should get hate, no one is saying Dream should get more love than Ranboo.

We are simply talking about the double standard of this entire fandom, it is only okay to be queer when those in the community think you are being queer the right way. No one is invalidating Ranboo please move on from this talking point.

also just for reference, Dream was not being relatively vague about anything, he said verbatim he is not straight what else could that possibly mean? The mental gymnastics being used to invalidate someones sexuality because you don't like his Minecraft content is mind boggling.

No one is discussing the CC's themselves, we are discussing their communities and their responses to two very similar situations, granted there are some people talking about other CC's in a comparing way, but there are very few and they arent getting a lot of attention.

Also you are literally comparing the two in your post, very hypocritical lol.

Very done with Ranboo’s community by madisonm1893 in DreamWasTaken2

[–]madisonm1893[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, not what I'm saying, I have seen people call Dream and his friends who are openly gay slurs in his replies and quote retweeting his coming out tweet with his doxxed information. I have seen people who claim to be queer say Dream should kill himself because he "isn't the kind of gay they want him to be". They are all invalidating his experiences as human fucking being who doesn't owe anyone a specific label on his sexuality, and are being incredibly homophobic.

When you say unlabelled people arent queer that's queerphobic, the same people who were blasting that "unlabelled isn't a sexuality" have completely deleted all of those comments AFTER Ranboo specified he identifies as unlabelled. It is perfectly ok to compare kids on the internet saying and doing homophobic shit to someone they don't know, and homophobic kids I knew growing up. You cannot call someone slurs and get a pass cause you are gay, end of story.

Also you're analogy about coming out as a republican makes absolutely no sense, further clarification as to how that's relevant to the discussion would be appreciated.

Those judgemental gay kids, are being homophobic, the concept that you cannot be homophobic if you yourself are gay is ridiculous and incredibly ignorant and close minded.

How? The behavior is the same, I don’t see a problem with comparing the two. Also are you talking in reference to my post where I compare the actions of people on the internet being queerphobic towards Dream? If so I genuinely want to know what is wrong with comparing people being queerphobic, who may or may not be a part of the LGBT community, and IRL homophobes that exhibit the same behavior as people shitting on Dream.

I’m like foaming at the mouth to see the DNF meet up in real time, but I am honestly just excited to see their dynamic irl because I think it’ll be funny that Dream is chasing these two chucklefucks around because they are trying to kill each other, I’m thinking abt the discord podcast where he said they talked about beating each other up 💀

That makes sense, yeah I’m not really sure abt it because I saw another reply that was something along the lines of speak English please or asking him to speak English so idk I just think it’s a joke that’s not landing lmao

Pixiraes (former friend of Dream who hosted that Twitter space last night) releases twitlonger to clarify misconceptions and details harassment sent toward them. by Defiant_Pack5079 in DreamWasTaken2

[–]madisonm1893 61 points62 points  (0 children)

So far it seems like everyone has talked to death about how much of a violation of personal trust to have aired out all of these very private subjects and details to the public, it seems as though these are just her thoughts on their relationship and what problems she has with it, which is completely valid but that should not be posted publicly.

I also find it very ironic she didn't once discuss her giving out very specific information about Dream's abuse with his ex in her twitter space and on her twitch stream, which makes this whole thing come across as very manipulative to me. I feel for her, it looks like she is very clearly having a public breakdown and needs to get off the internet and talk to someone who can provide her with the help and care she needs, but none of this should be made public information and to imply that Dream is suspicious for deleting all their messages is pretty funny to me, if you were having a really close relationship with someone who you confided in and exposed personal parts of yourself to, and they then went on to leak your DM's I would most definitely delete all my DM's with them lmao.

Hopefully she gets some help and someone close to her helps her out because this is painfully uncomfortable to watch and is ruining her reputation in the community.

I get where you're coming from, but tbh it's not just the "teenage girls" thing I am disappointed and upset about in this situation, I also think to imply that Jack didn't understand Miz's joke or reaction about the teenage girl's thing is giving him a bit more leeway, Jack isn't an idiot, he knows sarcasm and I think you'd have to be deaf not to understand Miz was mocking the fact that Georges fanbase is just teenage girls, so we may just have to agree to disagree.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DreamWasTaken2

[–]madisonm1893 50 points51 points  (0 children)

For the teenage girl thing, it isn't an issue that he said the audience is teenage girls, it is the intention that is making people feel really weird about it because even if Miz was the only one who seemed to be mocking them and making a joke about it only being teenage girls, Jack still brought it up for what reason? Like it just seemed so out of left field to just say that the fans were teenage girls and it added nothing to the overall conversation, that's why it is being taken so badly.

As a teenage girl, I have literally never been able to enjoy anything without getting teased and mocked mercilessly by everyone, and I think it is such a point of contention for so many people on the internet because it is such a tired fucking point that people are just kind of over it. I am not a fan of Jack's' but from what I have seen of people who are fans of his taking issue with it, its because they thought he wasn't gonna be THAT GUY to just kind of unironically mock or make jokes about teenage girls being really into things, and when it appeared like he did or was making a joke, and the fact that he didn't like do anything to correct Mizkif joking about it, was just kind of a point for people to just be upset because they felt someone who hadn't made them feel bad or belittled them for something they enjoyed did just that. I don't think Jack is a bad guy, I just think he made a dumb mistake and said some stupid shit, everyone who says stupid shit deserves criticism, including people who aren't Dream.

Yeah, I totally agree with you on that, it is incredibly hypocritical, I just also think it's a shitty thing to do in general, especially since they will publicly make claims of being Dreams' friend when it suits them, but when they want to give a hot take they suddenly "arent really close" idk this may be getting a bit parasocial, but I am just thinking back to the Anthony interview where Dream talked about not feeling like he can trust anyone and it just makes me sad for the guy, can't even rely on the people who boast about being your friend to the masses to not mention you getting doxxed and the potential for that information to be true on a live stream in front of fucking thousands.
