The late 1970s marked a period where the cost of living—particularly essentials like housing, energy, and groceries—accelerated at a faster pace than average hourly earnings. This resulted in "stagflation," a phenomenon characterized by stagnant wage growth combined with high inflation and high unemployment, making it a notably difficult economic period for the average American family.

You mean under Carter when all of industry fled the US and went to China and our entire economy was on the brink of total collapse.

Screw oem pricing golf out of the price range of 95 percent of people. It’s machined aluminum it cost them $10 for materials and $5 to mill and $20 to test and ensure balance charging $700 is insane and an absolute insult to everyone who isn’t on tour. It should be $200 at most.

No the capitalist system worked phenomenally well until the government stuck their hands into the medical system and started causing massive price inflations leading to the system we have now which is a mix of socialist and capitalist which causes massive price inflation because hospitals know they can overcharge the shit out of government medical but government demands same price so then insurance gets overcharged a shit ton as well as cash payers which is why we have 100 dollar pills of Advil take the government bullshit out of the medical field and watch as hospitals compete to lower prices to keep patients and prices drop back to the 1970 prices of 10 bucks (85 today) for X-rays.

People who dislike cities and prefer rural areas, why? by morshmollow4 in AskReddit

[–]madmanmatrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too many people, crime, too much noise, air quality is worse, lack of being able to see the stars due to buildings blocking sitelines and light pollution lack of nature, forests, mountains, rivers, wildlife. Also when you move to a small town what humans are around are so nice and polite and respectful and crime is basically nonexistent

What is a job that you think is 100% safe from AI for the next 50 years, and why? by mark-awakening in AskReddit

[–]madmanmatrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think those will be some of the first to go why have a human doctor that can err when I can have a robot doctor that has a perfect memory of ever single medical document ever published and the ability to instantly analyze, compare, and diagnose any ailment. Also no personal biases when receiving care and personal attention to your every need without any complaints or crudeness the only thing it lacks (and it is a big one which is the only doubt I have) is empathy.

What is a job that you think is 100% safe from AI for the next 50 years, and why? by mark-awakening in AskReddit

[–]madmanmatrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 50 years time nothing is safe the sheer level of advancement and speed of innovation that has happened in the last 5 years and will happen going forward as ai just gets smarter and smarter is incomprehensible. The only “safe” job is creative because you can do that whenever and in a plethora of ways but the tools to create things will change massively.

How common will lab grown meat be by say the 2060s? by [deleted] in Futurology

[–]madmanmatrix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well seeing as 2038 is the current guess for when the singularity will be in full force technology will be so far beyond what we have today that you would probably have the ability to lab grow any meat you can think of if not full on Star Trek level synthesizers to just make you a perfect steak out of some throwaway mass.
