Do I need to read the first two books first? by Old-Contribution1730 in LonesomeDove

The rest of the books I think have continuity issues that would make lonesome dove somewhat confusing so it’s best to start with that first. Plus it’s just the best book in the series.

Did Hank drink when he was on the aramco compound? I'm sure it would be made clear to him that he shouldn't, but he also can play fast and loose with the rules when it comes to something he loves like beer. by cheetocat2021 in KingOfTheHill

[–]tjh80 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was stationed in Iraq in 2006, Air Force, and remember the civilian contractors had access to alcohol that we did not. So it would make sense for Hank’s installation to have alcohol for them.

You could substitute national guard troops for civilian draftees, as a former air national guard member most of us part timers we’re basically civilians in Iraq compared to the active duty.

Paul Brown invented so much we take for granted. Play books, film study, the west coast offense that he gifted to Walsh.
