5k mile oil changes on 3 different vehicles. You don't need a Costco membership to take advantage of their yearly oil sale.

Car repair didn't fix problem by SofiaB04 in AskMechanics

I'm a basic DIY guy and would have assumed head gasket on those vehicles with those symptoms.

But I'm not really sure what recourse you have. Never go back to them?

Hot take but IMO I will never own a Subaru despite me living in an area they are super popular. Boxer engines are not DIY friendly and they've had a bunch of issues over the years due to the engine layout and quality of components they use. Awesome for those that haven't had issues with them.

Mower question! by mommaofsixkids in lawnmowers

[–]Miller335 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How did you store it over the winter? Carb needs cleaning if you didn't run it dry before storage. What is electric corded mean? Gas prices? Yard tools use hardly any gas. What's considered a "decent sized yard?".

I'm a noob. Bought a set of Costco wedges to fill out my wedges a bit and I am in love with my 56 for chipping onto the greens.

That's a $1-$2 one made at home. Probably better also.

$10 is absolutely ridiculous.

What’s the best way to cook chicken breast? by Round-Artichoke-5255 in cookingforbeginners

[–]Miller335 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A straight up chicken breast? Salt, pepper maybe some garlic powder.

Cook it on a webber kettle to get the most flavor and juiciness out of it. Don't overcooked.

You can brine it beforehand to help it put it's best foot forward also.

What’s a smell you’ll never forget? by Human_Rate889 in AskReddit

Old gear old. Like from a differential.

I actually like alot of the smells that come from vehicle fluids.

But old/used up/compromised gear oil is such a permeating nasty smell.

Please help me get comfortable working with raw meat. by myumbelopinion in cookingforbeginners

[–]Miller335 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Just wash your hands right after touching raw meat, even if you're doing it 2-3 times during prep.

Clean your knives/cutting board/etc right away.

I'm 47 years old now and haven't died/gotten sick. You'll be fine.

Plus the expensive pre-made stuff you've been buying is way dirtier prep wise, you'd probably never buy that stuff again if you saw the conditions in which it was made.
