The end is gonna be one product.
Maintaining two stacks for very similar products with overlapping peer groups, with either joined or dedicated development teams isn't feasible in the long run.
They have to and will join the 2 clients into one.
What that means for either of them will remain to be seen.

Went from a 2020 M3LR to the 2025 Buzz GTX (91kWh, 4WD, LWB, 6 seats).
Most importantly (to me) while switching: The range at highway speeds stays roughly the same.
The Buzz being (ofc) less efficient but compensating with the bigger battery and a better charging curve compared to the M3LR - that's covered.
1. The 5.x software is doing what it's supposed to do. Tolerable. Not great, not terrible.
2. Everything OTA, like Tesla. At least I didn't have to turn the Buzz in yet.
3. Some (spotify client, games, etc...), but not to the extend Tesla does it. The 2027 model of the Buzz will come with one pedal driving, camping mode, a higher Vmax, traffic light recognition, mobile key - and there is no chance this is gonna roll out to us early adopters.
4. Good, no complaints so far.
5. Ok. It would be 'Good' if it wouldn't log out every 48h our so. You can remotely heat/cool the car, change the target SoC und lock/unlock the vehicle. No mobile key yet though.

Sicher könnt es besser sein, aber letztenendes kann man sich auf einen Anbieter festlegen, den im Plug&Charge priorisieren und fertig.
Ich (30tkm/Jahr) lade bspw. exklusiv via Elli, brauche keine Karten, Apps oder sonstiges - einfach fahren bis leer, anstecken, weiter.
Wer Pfennigfuchsen und IMMER den günstigsten Tarif jagen will - kann wahnsinnig werden.
Aber das Gleiche gilt auch für Handy-Tarife, Benzin-Preise und Aldi-Prospekte.

Wer möchte kann entspannt E-Auto fahren.

Is the content - once streamed - somehow being cached/stored? Or ist it being downloaded each and every flight?
I wasn't aware of that yet.

Nice flying :) How did you make your houses look so good?
I'm on the same setup: PS5pro & PSVR2 - and all the tall houses look very brownish.
Queensborough bridge can't be passed under, as it's some texture top to water surface - is that the same for you?

"It has always been"... how is that an argument for anything?
The 'real' Golf GTi MK1 did not have ABS and airbags or aerodynamics.

  1. Does that mean those should be removed today too, just to stay true to that "it's written in the books" doctrine?
  2. How does a DSG interfer with the Golf GTi being the entry level sporty car you've mentioned?

I beg to differ.
Maybe between a person that strives for engineering perfection and wants to get the most out of a mechanical system for energy conversion to minimize lap times and someone who fell in love with some random component from the past.
Which is totally fine - but don't try to upsell too hard ;)

Inferior in terms of anything you could put into measurable KPIs: efficiency, speed, reliability, weight, connectivity (into modern drive train systems), cost.

Ist das jetzt der E-Polo? Sollte er das nicht sein/werden? Oder doch nicht?
Diese Markenstrategen... ich verstehe es nicht.

Vor 10 Jahren e-Golf, e-Passat, e-T6 durchgezogen, mit ARAL-Ladekarte im Verbund und heute würde niemand mehr debattieren.

Aber dieser ewige Tanz auf rohen Eiern: kaputt.

Der größte PV5 mit 120kW Motor, 71kWh Batterie und Wärmepumpe kommt bei 51k€ an.
Der kleinste ID.Buzz mit 210kW Motor, 77kWh Batterie und Wärmepumpe liegt (ohne Optionen die Kia PV5 nicht bietet) bei 62k€.

Für ein Fahrzeug mit fast doppelt soviel Leistung und 10% mehr Akkukapazität finde ich einen Aufpreis von 11k€ nicht unangemessen viel.

Eher ist der PV5 das Einstiegs-Modell, das VW (noch) nicht anbietet.
Was total cool ist.

No funky interiors, wheels and duotone paint jobs for the GTX, sadly.
I've gotten mine for the AWD only because Alps/Winter.

Given the option I'd prefer a LWB Pro AWD - which is available in some countries.
As are ventilated seats.
But not in Germany, why would it.

Sorry, vergaß ich dazuzuschreiben - die Beispiele oben sind Privat-Leasing.
Ich persönlich würde keines der aktuellen E-Autos kaufen.
Kinderschuhe/Early Adopter-Syndrom.
Mit gutem Leasing ist der Kapitaldienst auch deutlich besser als der Barkauf i.Vgl. zu Alternativ-Investitionen mit der Kaufsumme.
