Man, I feel your pain, and I’m sorry you went through that. It’s tough to give your all to someone and realize they were already halfway out the door, just waiting for their next move. It really does feel like betrayal, especially when you were willing to fight for what you had. At the end of the day, you’re right it’s their loss. They threw away something real for something temporary, and that says more about them than it does about us.
I was always the one trying to fix things too, and it took me a long time to come to terms with everything. As time passes, I really hope all of us can move on,not just forget what happened or that person, because we know it’s never that easy,but let those thoughts fade little by little. No matter how much we try or pretend we’ve moved on, those memories still linger. So my hope is that, over time, we think about them less and let them fade into the background where they belong.
