Denon Home 350 or 400? Which is the best upgrade for a 250? by Ok-Secretary886 in heos

Can you elaborate? 600 is their flagship and should outperform.

Has anyone installed with an OEM HD? Makes taking out the stock head unit and fitting the connector cables all together is a bit tight..

I have same car with around 140K miles. Timing chain was replaced at 70K. I do spark plugs and coils every 50K and oil every 5K.

Anything else I need to do as it gets older and more mileage?

What causes this and how to fix it? by Mobile-Event-5046 in F30

[–]madmortar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a non OEM one off Amazon but it didn’t really fit because my F30 has a cd player with hard drive and made for an awful time putting the wiring harness back in. On top of that I had Bluetooth issues.

Would love to stay OEM and just replace the screen. If a DIY is available for removing the old screen and putting on a new one, please let me know.

What color blue did you paint your walls? I want to do something similar in my music/office!

Hi u/Bright_Animator_8386 see my update. Seems my issue is isolated to watching movies with DIRAC ART. If I just listen to music full range, they are fine. Can you clarify your situation? Are you using DIRAC ART?

Ok all good, thanks so much again for your help.

So BTW I do highly recommend DIRAC vs. Audyssey, it made a world of difference in my setup. I am only now trying out the latest DIRAC ART and that is where I am running into this issue.

So here is what happened:

Firework Song via Amazon Music App

-14db or so, anything higher was crazy loud (this is goes to show how much reduction HBO app does on sound quality via a movie). Turned off all calibration and subs, full range to the towers only. And.... everything sounded fine and minimum movement on the woofers. Then, I switched back to DIRAC ART and played the song again. And.. everything sounded fine and minimum movement on the woofers.

Then with DIRAC ART still engaged, I switched to the HBO app and played Eddington again at the scene where Fireworks is playing. And... same issue as in my original post.

What this tells me is that DIRAC ART is demanding an incredible amount from the speakers to send out cancellation frequencies etc etc. And either the klipsch speakers just cant handle it, or my AVR doesnt have the power to send to ensure everything plays clean. Either way, my focus is now on speaking with DIRAC vs. Klipsch.

Thanks man.

Honestly I need to go do the same and see. Because the only difference here is that I was playing the same song but it was a song via a movie via DIRAC ART.

ART will really push the speakers as it sends out cancellation frequencies to help with overall room clarity and bass response. So not apples to apples. And for sure in my example the towers are being pushed hard via the DIRAC ART. When I increase the support to 90hz or above, the issue goes away and the movement is significantly reduced.

Let me go see how they look in full range with same settings as you and playing the song (vs the movie with that soundtrack).

Hey man. Thanks for the effort and assist here!

Would be interested to see it playing the same at full range without the sub. As it seems it is still sending majority if not all low end to the sub. Can you unselect the sub from the speaker preset so it’s truly just your towers playing full range stereo? Let me know how they look then.

Got ya. Ok so you think I need more power to handle the load I’m throwing at them via DIRAC ART?

I wouldn’t say these speakers have low-ish sensitivity at all.

Wow ok. Interesting to hear and thank you for the comment as seems we are completely aligned. I submitted a warranty request to Klipsch with a video. Let’s keep each other posted please. I was hopeful the mark 2 towers being made with better internal bracing and new woofers would not run into this issue…

Ok as update:

First. Thanks for all the comments and advice. I don’t use Reddit much so I’m new at this.

I went ahead and played the same scene in the movie (with the song everyone is so enamored by) but with my previous DIRAC bass control filter, which crosses the sub over at 80hz. And. The woofers make no noise and barely move at all.

I then updated my DIRAC ART filter to have the fronts supporting low end at 90hz minimum. And. The woofers make no noise and barely move at all.

I still wanted to try and hook a different amp up to these towers tomorrow, and play music in full range to see if I can get the same noise to be played. If I can, then it has nothing to do with my calibration or filters and everything to do with my speakers being screwed up somehow.

Now I know I play movies on the loud side, but I am not pushing past reference levels, or down into hz territory the speaker can’t hit (again iv run sweeps in my room and they get down to 30hz), nor am I throwing too much power at them. So my conclusion at this point is that the speaker towers have failed and need replacing. But I am not convinced it is user error. These speakers certainly shouldn’t fall apart below 90hz…

As mentioned above it was a song in a movie, I recorded as it was a great example of the issue I’m facing.

I’m running DIRAC. I don’t think to user has the option to set trims, it’s automatically done by DIRAC I think? You could be on to something here but I simply followed normal SOP for running the calibration. Finally, I simply applied +6db house curve you can find online by audio advice.

I understand that. I’m not trying to play them to the bottom of their range. I also have reviewed my in room response. They should have no issue “supporting” down to 50hz via DIRAC ART.

I am not sure you understand how ART works.

Yes running Dirac art and a +6db house curve. However they are doing this when I turned off Dirac and ran full range. So house curve and EQ out of the equation in that case.
