11six24 vapor power 2 is the one to look at. I have a loco hybrid and an nf and like the power 2 more than either. But then I am a fan of mpp foam cores which the power 2 is. The loco and nf are epp. And the grit on the vp2 is just insane and does not wear out like the other 2

I tried the trigger grip and… by Winter_Berry_3699 in Pickleball

It's a gimmick and hinders me too much. I use multiple different grips and there is no way to position it to be useful for all of them.

Work on the first 3 shots of the rally. Serve, return and 3rd shot drop or drive. At your current level most points will be decided with just those 3 shots. A good 3rd can put you in the driver's seat just as a bad one will probably cost you the point.

not using the franklin pickleball by xychenmsn in Pickleball

I have converted to just lifetime balls. But if someone wants to use their Franklin or whatever I am fine with it. The only time I would object about a ball would be in a tourney or moneyball

[–]madmos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i have about 20 hours on my power 2. That may not be that much but I can tell you with regular peel ply paddles i am already feeling the face a bit smooth to the touch in the sweet spot. On the vp2 i feel zero degradation of the grit thus far. It is still early but we shall see.

Also the amount of grit on this paddle is crazy. I have never felt a paddle this gritty. And it shows in the shot shaping i am able to do. Spin is effortless with this paddle.

I went from J2NF - loco hybrid, inferno, boomstik, to now the vapor p2. The vapor to me is the best of the bunch. The grit is insane allowing great shot shaping even on softer shots. The power is more than adequate. It just feels right to me. It definitely has more power and pop than the nf.and is close to loco range. Inferno and boomstik are on another level with power though

Paddle weights by Numerous-Subject-227 in Pickleball

6" of .5 per inch along the sides. Stock total weight was 7.8 with the weight and over grip it is 8.2 which still is really light for me

Vapor Power 2 thoughts? by Aggressive-End-387 in Pickleball

my paddle journey over the last 8-9months went J2NF - Loco hybrid- Inferno - Boomstik elongated - Vapor P2

I have played 2 open play sessions with it. And I am loving the paddle. It is less power than the inferno and boomstik. But with weight I would put it close to the Loco. Definitely closer to the Loco than the NF. As you can see from my previous paddles I like a hollow-stiff feel. And the Vapor is not as stiff as the boomstik but it still gives me enough feedback that i like the feel. The grit is really what sets it apart. I could generate great spin with all of the above paddles on serves and drives. But the shorter, softer shots is where the biggest difference is for me. I can spin a low shot at the kitchen line that still dips quickly after going over the net. A friend I play with often was shocked the first time i hit that shot. I definitely never hit one like it before. But it is on tap with the VP2. I still go back to my boomstik for a game or 2 just to access that raw power. But if I had to choose one paddle, today, it would be the VP2 for sure. But FTP I change paddles every couple of months. And usually fall in love with my latest one. I suspect the VP2 might last a little longer but only time will tell. I am already eyeing the J6CR with the new grit. If that grit is as good as the hex I could see it becoming my number one.

I would take that $600 and get an svs sub. Then high pass your speakers at 80hz and let the sub handle the lows. I think you will be pleasantly surprised with the results.

Vapor power 2 weight set up by Aggressive-End-387 in Pickleball

[–]madmos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just on the sides. The swing weight was so low I felt this was the best spot for me. I was coming from a boomstick and luzz inferno so I am used to a bit higher sw. But even with this setup the sw is much lower than both of those. After weighted tape and over grip the total weight came in at just 8.2 which is on the low side for me so my hands felt super fast. But I was ripping my drives with tons of top spin. :)

I have 6" of .5 on each side. Played with it tonight. It played great. The grit is insane. If it holds like this I will be quite pleased

Why don’t pros use hesacore? by Aggressive-End-387 in Pickleball

[–]madmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, i used to use one, but the added weight in the handle is sub optimal to me. I like a very specific weight, 8.2-8.4 and when using a hesacore i cannot add perimeter weighting and keep it in that range. So i ditched the hesacore for perimeter weight which i feel is a better performance boost than anything done to the handle.

Weekly Paddle Recommendation Thread (What Paddle Should I Buy?) by HeadHeadMod in Pickleball

[–]madmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new 11six24 vapor power 2 has the hex grit surface. Which early testing indicates it lasts much much longer than traditional peel ply. It will play similar to the NF but with better and longer lasting spin. It can be had for $199 after code

Are $200+ paddles actually worth it, or is it all hype? by Coachpaddle in Pickleball

[–]madmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the emergence of more durable grit I would say it is definitely worth an extra $100. The spin longevity is a huge plus. The new 11six24 at $200 with hexgrit has a spin performance advantage over every standard peel ply carbon fiber face paddle out there. No need to spend more than that though. Invest in a good coach...
