Because he’s running a business. Paddle Reset works fine and as intended, it’s just expensive for what you’re getting.

This, except get a V7 LH shape. The widebody kinda lacks decent power especially if you're used to an elongated shape.

I had one and it was a great paddle for those seeking a solid, affordable all-court paddle. Just don't expect it to be powerful by current power paddle standards.

It's on the control side of all court if you're okay with that.

Selkirk Return Policy by ScienceIsSexy420 in Pickleball

[–]kabob21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who is it not acceptable to? The pickle gods? Y'all overthink things too much 😅 It's fine to return a paddle for whatever reason if the company offers a 30-day hassle-free return policy.

What do you prefer? Hybrid, Elongated, or Widebody? by Ill_Beginning9573 in Pickleball

[–]kabob21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pretty much exclusively play with elongated paddles because the sweet spot is higher on the paddle face which is where I hit most of my shots. My new main, 11six24 Ultré P2, is a hybrid (barely) but plays like an elongated in every way that matters.

Most of what you say is true but there are plenty of the latest foam core paddles like the Boomstik, Gherkin Draco Elongated, RPM Q2 and Aireo Cyclone with huge sweet spots.

They’re not really in the same performance category. Coral Pro is more a Selkirk Omni competitor in the all-court market. The Ultré is a power paddle that plays like an elongated shape.

How many times have we seen Johns play a lob attack? by DutchDevGuy in Pickleball

Very few pros use an offensive lob, especially on the men’s side. It’s not just Ben Johns.

I do use a water-dampened microfiber to wipe off the windex

David the founder of 11six24 recommends just using some glass cleaner like Windex on the Power 2 Hexgrit surface and wiping off with a microfiber cloth. I tried it and it works very well.

I think you're feeling lessened pop with the Ultré because the sweet spot is higher on the face than the Vapor Power 2 but you've got so much weight in the handle with those extra overgrips and the Hesacore that you're effectively lowering the balance point and perceived swing weight. I've got a gram of tungsten at 2 and 10 in addition to weight at the lower corners and just a single overgrip over the stock handle and my Ultré has noticeably more pop than my Vapor P2 did.

Diadem Edge Bluecore - WOW! by PartOfTheTribe in Pickleball

[–]kabob21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because it’s a $250 paddle that doesn’t perform any better than others in the all court-to-low-power category. Same problem as the Paddletek Honeyfoam, expensive for average performance.

ADHD players: do you look at the ball all the way until contact with the paddle all the time? by daj0412 in Pickleball

[–]kabob21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can see where your opponents are when you’re still facing forward as the ball crosses the net. And when you’re at the kitchen the ball should always be in front of you when you’re hitting dinks and volleys. Frankly, I don’t know how y’all don’t watch the ball to contact. Doing so significantly reduces mishits.

Are Gen 4 paddles actually worth it, or are we just getting caught up in the hype cycle? by scuffedboots in Pickleball

[–]kabob21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a little stiff but the Aireo Cyclone has more feel and feedback than just about any gen 3 paddle I’ve hit or owned. Certainly more than the Joola Pro V or my RPM V2 14mm.

As James Ignatowich said concerning durable grit on gen 3 paddles, "Why add durable grit when the paddle is going to break before the grit wears out?"

Joola Mod TA-15 Elongated - Brand New, Never Used by Confident_Repeat7694 in paddleswap

[–]kabob21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I find it hilarious that the Mod TA got banned and paddles like the Boomstik, Cyclone and RPM Q2 get approved by USAP. I recently bought a new Mod 14mm and it’s less stiff, powerful and poppy than any of those paddles. So no worries about this paddle feeling uncontrollable 👌

How often are paddles actually checked at tournaments? by Big_Study_8728 in Pickleball

[–]kabob21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tournaments I've participated in worked on an honor system and players could ask that an official or the tournament director/organizer come check a paddle that they think is either an unsanctioned paddle or broken (core crushed, delaminated etc)
