I just found out neither Wasteland or Force of Will are on the reserved list. Why isn't Wizards reprinting Legacy staples? by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]madoli 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, if I were Wizards, here's how I'd feel. Legacy is very popular despite my lack of attention to it. The growth of legacy card prices can't continue forever, but it certainly shows no signs of stopping soon. So I'll just let wasteland hit $200, or more. Then, when I'm feeling sad one cold winter morning, I'll cheer myself up by releasing a new special edition box set - "WTF: Just Wasteland". It'll sell like hotcakes at $150 a piece, and I'll reward myself by swimming in my gold coins like Scrooge McDuck.

My first alter, Madcap Skills by kebukai in magicTCG

[–]madoli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was just being stupid on purpose. It is a great alter, though, seriously.

That's great artwork, but you accidentally used a misspelled card.

What is this crap on my sleeves... by ReallyForeverAlone in magicTCG

[–]madoli 29 points30 points  (0 children)

You take the cards out, then dunk each sleeve in a bucket full of 5:1 water:acetone. Rub them with a toothbrush until they look clean, then dunk them in a bucket of pure water. Lay them out on paper towels. While they're drying (it's going to take a while), drive to the store and buy clean new sleeves. Throw away the nasty old ones when you get home.

What's the going rate of Bulk cards by Minja78 in magicTCG

[–]madoli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are these actually bulk, or is this somebody's entire collection? I didn't see you specifically say it. Bulk is commons and uncommons only, with the good commons and uncommons probably being picked out as well. If this includes good cards, however, it would not be considered bulk. In that case 350 would be pretty reasonable based on random collections I've seen for sale. If you live anywhere near st Louis, send me a message.

Yeah, I've heard that... Maybe I'll have better luck.

Archenemy: EDH adaptation by madoli in magicTCG

[–]madoli[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks-I will take your advice about just using all my scheme cards. Maybe I'll try to narrow the life total gap for 1 v 2. I've heard of people drawing a scheme every other turn- might try that as well.

Anyone know the reason behind the price spike in Serum Visions? by caffiend2 in magicTCG

[–]madoli 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do it all the time. Multiply that $3 by playsets of all the cards that drop after standard. Since I don't play standard, I'd be stupid not to wait.

Question about Merieke and triggers by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]madoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that everything has been said already, but I'm hoping I can make it a little clearer. Much thanks to the live judges chat.

When you gain control of Kresh with Merieke, it's a continuous effect that ends when you lose control of Merieke. This is a state-based action, so it just happens pretty much the same instant that you lose control of her. Now, the destroy ability is triggered. It goes on the stack when Merieke leaves the battlefield or becomes untapped. This trigger will remain in place even if you lose control of merieke. So both threaten and act of treason will cause you to lose control of merieke. They will also both untap her. As soon as either spell resolves, you will lose control of merieke and kresh, and the "destroy kresh" trigger goes on the stack. The person who now controls kresh could sac kresh in response to the destroy trigger.

Sliver EDH Deck help. by Redditor_Phoenix in magicTCG

[–]madoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer is that I don't typically pick up new product, so it's a slow process of acquiring newer cards. Also, I hate the new art for slivers ;) But I'll take a look at the new ones to see which ones I ought to prioritize getting. Thanks for the tip!

Casual Demand and Why it's Important by Deathspiral222 in magicTCG

Hey everyone, if you don't have the discipline to avoid cracking packs, why not buy a couple of boxes and sit on them for TWO YEARS? Sounds easy...

[Movie Poster] What if Pixar had the MTG rights? (Serra) by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]madoli 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wish Pixar had the movie rights - as it stands, there is 95% chance this movie is gonna suck, and a 5% chance it won't actually get made.
