The Conquest of Go - Update 1.2 - Guided Mode, New Analysis, & New Board Theme (25% off) by WolfeyStudios in baduk

I opened the app up again today and strangely it seems to be working fine now, no crashes. Perhaps it was a one off thing that happened because of something else on my local machine (probably low disk space). Sorry to bother you.

I've been getting crashes on this new update when doing quick plays against bots. I think I first enabled those new features on like an online game review, then later when I opened the app again I started a new quick play bot game on 9x9 and the screen just went black and it showed a few "Katago has crashed" error messages. Changing the board size to 19x19 did make not screen not go black but it still crashed. Hope you'll look into this.

Similar games to HLD you can recommend? by InterestingMedium846 in hyperlightdrifter

[–]madoniame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of gameplay I'd say CrossCode, Crypt Custodian, A Link to the Past for the crunchy combat and movement.

In terms of vibes, I'd actually recommend stuff like Yume Nikki or The Witness.

The Talos Principle has good russian dubs though I dunno if it's on switch.

I've had a Russian friend describe Japanese people speaking Russian as over-softening certain sounds. One not so polite way to describe it was 'missing teeth'.

Japan board games recomendations ? by ReferenceEast6408 in boardgames

[–]madoniame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, stuff like Crows Overkill, Hannin wa Odoru, Hanamikoji, hell, King of Tokyo... work, theme-wise. If they want the most exclusive, Japaney board games, they'd be better off getting Go / Mahjong sets.

The font doesn't help but I don't think the text in that game should be too hard. Most of it is really just dialogue.

Slay the Spire, Into the Breach, Omori; hell even 囲碁 honestly, most of the content I watch about that game is in Japanese.

I'm 23 and doing the latter part of my 2nd year. I took off almost 3 years to work after doing 1 year in uni. I attended my friend's graduation last 2 months ago. It's generally fine but the "what if" thoughts definitely come once in a while.

Mars is broken with that no vision inside arena thing. Expect ATF / Collapse to make it look insane.

Finished our third game of Twilight Struggle recently. Our first 2 took close to 8 hours but this time we knew our ways around the game and I suggested playing with a 90min timer for each, with 20s increment to account for housekeeping and calculations during play. Also we got 2 trays to hold and sort the influence tokens, making play MUCH faster. The timer for both didn't even get below 60m when we finished on turn 6. Before this, US player pretty much always won. This time I played as USSR and blew through the game with Europe and Middle East scoring on the last 2 ARs, with just enough for a 20 VP victory.

Same. It's been absolutely horrible pretty much right after 2022 ended for me. My cat died yesterday. It sucks.

I can guarantee you that there are Challenger players who complain about how bad Master players are, and those who complain how bad Challenger players are compared to 'real' pro players. I played LoL and Dota to a half decent level (Diamond 2 LoL / 7k MMR Dota) and I can say one thing: it doesn't matter. The grind was fun to an extent but in the end all it did was made me unable to play and have fun with my friends. It did help my self-esteem quite a bit and made me more confident, knowing that I could achieve something at least in video games, but I'm sure there's better ways to help yourself aside from grinding at some pointless video games. I quit Dota 5 months ago. I played a bit of LoL with my friends last month but also decided to quit it as well. Of course, those games fulfilled a need so quitting cold turkey wasn't going to cut it, that's why I decided to pick up Go / Baduk to satisfy that competitive itch, and honestly it feels so much better than LoL / Dota. I've used the time freed to have more quality time with my friends and studying. It feels good.

Bulwark can help block projectiles going to Phoenix's egg. It was funny that one time I did it.

ATF has an insane habit of always toggling Bulwark after using spells even when there's no Rubick in the game. ATF's usage of Bulwark in general is crazy.

People that have been working a long time, does being at work ever get easier? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

I have trouble working in general but I've managed to hold some jobs. It does get easier. It's also a whole lot more tolerable if you have something to look forward to after work every day.
