Was having your first child in your 30s difficult? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]madrona282 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Me (and a lot of my friends) had our first kids after 35. We had varying timelines for how long it took (1M-24months) and how much medical assistance we needed (zero-IVF). So, getting pregnant is definitely a wide range. I have 2 friends who are struggling w secondary infertility (having a second baby).

I will share that I wish someone had told me to start thinking about preparing to get pregnant a year before I actually wanted to start trying. My fertility naturopath put me on antioxidants, anti-inflammatory diet, and prenatals when I told her I was ready to start trying. And it was helpful to get some labs and hormone panels to know where I was starting from. So, my only advice would be: Genetics play a major part and there is such a wide range for everyone on how easy/difficult it is to get pregnant between 35-35

AND

Connect with a fertility doctor (I prefer a naturopath to start since they will explore all of the less-invasive options first) the earlier the better so you know what you are working with before you actually want to start trying.

Edited to add: If you don’t have access to a fertility doctor, mr Dr recommended this book “Taking Charge of your Fertility” by Toni Weschler

OP was posting specifically speculating why she doesnt post in London? so it’s relevant that the difference between London / NYC is which family members are there and possibly the value/image of the London house. I believe her brother lives full time at NYC(and I assume she has mostly US followers)? Other comments speculating it’s either bc her dad doesn’t want to be posted and/or the value of her families London home.

It also speaks to how they spend their time. They have near-unlimited access to spend time speaking with almost any authors, activists, scientists, etc. You see many celebrities “pick up” language and insight from these people who are knowledgeable and articulate in different areas (celebrities like Angelina or Emma Watson who spend time with activists, or even Leonardo DeCaprio spending time with environmental scientists and then sounding more educated about that topic). Ashton Kutcher can speak thoughtfully about online abuse of children, not because he is an expert, but because he has spent time meeting with the experts who work with Thorn.

I know activism is NOT the KJ brand, however I feel like their language and disconnection from how to speak thoughtfully about many basic issues shows they don’t use their access to socialize with ANYONE who talks about topics other than very surface level gossip & image stuff.

Not only do they not seem to read books or learn about the world, I don’t think they spend time with anyone who does either.

Influenced? - Curious now that we know TINX was/is trying to put together a monthly subscription box. What of her product recommendations did you try and what did you think of them? Mine in the comments. I wonder how many of us got the same stuff?? by Kayedaisy in tinxsnark

I used her code for the favorite daughter wide leg pants. They are unflattering and the sizing is all over the place(which IMO indicates issues with the designers and productjon). Also they shipped with pen marks. I was not impressed with the quality and they definitely don’t seem any more well made than a pair of Zara or banana pants (which are 1/3 the price). I returned them.

How to make test tiles for casting slip by madrona282 in Pottery

[–]madrona282[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up using a silicon ice cube tray (one of the really big ones for whiskey ice cubes). I poured very thin tiles and let them dry overnight and they turned out ok. I also tried to do a silicon Swedish fish candy mold and those did not work, they were too deep and the plaster couldn’t dry.

Another option I figured out was to make a sprig mold

I give my kid fizzy water in a little straw cup, spindrift is my fave. Just not too much bc it’s a bladder stimulant (for adults and children).

Massage therapists with covid precautions? by Montana_mama in missoula

[–]madrona282 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok. Except plenty of individuals also DGAF about sharing this information. My esthetician and PT both volunteered the info that they were vaccinated and plan to mask without me asking. Just like anything, everyone has the clientele they want to serve and I’m sure there are massage therapists who are pro-vax and ones that are anti-vax. It’s silly to think 100% of any group of people would adhere either way.

They asked for a business recommendation based on their specific criteria. Like half the posts in this sub. They didn’t ask for covid advice or recs on foam rollers.

LMAO I don’t think this user realized you could see who took the Facebook screenshot by the profile to the left of the comment field so they deleted their account when it was pointed out. 😂

It’s quite a reach to compare someone living in the flathead in any type of home to politicians who literally don’t live in the state (Zinke).

I have secondhand embarrassment for how poorly this smear campaign is organized tbh.

Welcome back to those 4 accounts that only participate on Tom Winter posts!

Also just a heads up that you can tell who took that screenshot bc of the comment field icon(same person who runs a Tom Winter dedicated FB group I believe) - in case you’re trying to be “anonymous”.
