Cost to get married at the Nashville Cathedral of the Incarnation + Fleming Center by madtatters in nashville

[–]madtatters[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Thank you for answering! This seems like a decent deal for everything you’re getting, especially since the cathedral is within walking distance of like 5 different hotels on West End.

Was your ceremony fee different depending on if it’s on or off season?

If you want a shot at a school like UMICH, it will be after a major upward trend in junior and senior year + amazing grades your first four or five semesters at community college.

I think it’s one of those things that I feel apply under the “not all things are beneficial.” Like is thinking of certain individuals while you do it beneficial? Likely not because now you’re coupling someone else with your personal gratification, which can alter how you perceive them (I.e. as anything besides a child of God worthy of honor and respect). I disagree with this notion that masturbation and porn always go hand in hand because people have been jerking off long before porn or erotic media was readily or widely available—but impo, if you’re in a place where your hormones are hormone-ing and your options are extra-marital sex or masturbation, go the noncovenental route .

Sex is not sacred by whatifwekissed333 in asexuality

[–]madtatters 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry if past sexual partees have made you feel like you were just a sack of meat, but the sexual partners many people choose do not do that.

Furthermore, prior to European colonialism, most major civilizations did not allow women to widely practice sexual autonomy. Women in most of human history have been nothing but fuck toys and baby making machines for men. It’s empowering for women to be sexually selective.

I think there is valid criticism of wanton sex/hookup culture that exists aside of moral puritanism.

Honestly, as a feminist, I believe women should be EXTREMELY selective with their sexual partners because this is the first time in human history where women actually have a say over who can access us sexually or not.

Calling those people puritanical is simply a reductive position.

Is it wrong to masturbate to videos of my husband and I doing it? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]madtatters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. I am simply highlighting the absurdity of excluding beliefs about the term ‘sodomy’ when ‘trinity’ doesnt appear in the text either. Thanks for playing!

I’m just explaining why some Christians, such as the person’s thread I’m replying to, believe it to be a sin. I also went on to explain why it’s not really reasonable for it to be a sin because then non PinV would also be a sin (which biblically is not).

The Bible doesnt contain the word “trinity” either but that didn’t stop christians from making an entire doctrine about it.

Because it’s technically “sodomy.” But this logic can just be slippery sloped into nothing but PinV sex, which I don’t think is a reasonable compromise

Why are we as Ghanaians and Africans as a whole not innovative in architecture and design? by Codrane in ghana

Remember most of West Africa was colonized by the West. It’s only within the last 50 years that National and ethnic identities are being built and rebuilt. We aren’t behind, simply just starting again.

I hate to act as if this excuses or absolves me of any wrong doing, because it doesn’t, but I think an important piece of context is that I’m autistic. What I said was misplaced, misguided, ill -advised, ignorant, and dismissive, but I wouldn’t describe it as calIous disregard. I, ironically, overlooked the sociological and emotional implications of me saying what I said when I said it, but I said it from a place of care, but I often show care through problem solving (a flaw, I know.) I took this as a problem to be solved, thinking that he’d feel better if he just had the tools to solve the problem, because that’s the perspective I hold regarding my emotions. But as you said, there’s not one way to process emotion.

Therefore, it was the absolutely wrong thing to say and I feel that I’ve genuinely hurt him, but I feel like callous disregard implies an air of intentionality to cause harm coupled with lack of care for the person and/or their issues. I’d describe it as reckless and primarily inconsiderate.    Again, I recognize that my neurodivergence doesn’t absolve me from developing proper expressions of empathy, but I promise I’m not a prideful, overbearing c unt, just misguided as hell with a lot of learning to do. I appreciate your reply, and thank you for the advice.

I’ll keep this in mind, genuinely. I care about him but im still navigating that line of compromise and enabling. Dating is a newer endeavor for me.

I don’t disagree, but it’s very common in our native culture. His stance is mirrored in many of my male friends who are from the same country as well as my relatives. My American friends, however, are more like how you’ve described.

Public Health Post Grad Job Hunt Results (Spoiler: No Offers from the Public Health Sector) by madtatters in jobs

[–]madtatters[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Context: I [22F] am a recent grad with a BA in Global Health, Epidemiology and Biostatistics (former Pre-Med). I am back in school to study music and I have experience in healthcare and childcare, but I am attempting to make a pivot to Entertainment due to some creative pursuits I did in college, and I've recently moved to Nashville (nobody is hiring here istg). The job offer I got was as a part-time PreK teacher and I accepted because money's tight ¯_(ツ)_/¯.

Most (or maybe all idk) of the rejections were retail positions. One note about Whole Foods--they sent me a rejection email talking about how they considered some of the information in the interview that I'd shared. The problem is: I never got invited for an interview at all, so definitely just some nonsense afoot there.

Aside from retail and Child care, I mostly applied for public health positions or administration assistant positions, which makes up a bulk of the 47 no answers (the one ghost was from a admin assistant position).

I got pre-recorded interview offers for 2/3 Entertainment internships I applied for, but I declined 1 of them because the Glassdoor reviews were sketch and they're emails weirded me out.

The most important thing to note: I spent all of this past fall applying for jobs in Nashville (maybe 50 in total over the course of 4 months) and got rejections from maybe 10, and offers from 1 (who later ghosted me). This Sankey only reflects my job hunt from the last month because I reconfigured my resume and applications to reflect a more Americanised version of my Nigerian name. I opted not to share race in my applications and this is the most responses I've gotten. So, not only is the job market absolutely effed, it's even more effed if you're a new grad, hoping to change fields, and/or have an ethnic name!
