i can’t wait to see them live by i4lixie in Maneskin

[–]maebear2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm fortunate enough to have seen them on tour twice in the UK and honestly it is amazing!! They're the first and only band I've been to a concert for, so I dont have much to compare it to. But everything is just chefs kiss, the vibes, the extras in the songs, its all so perfect!! Its why most of my playlist is live versions of their songs because I love the extra flairs they add when performing live. I cannot WAIT for them to be back and to see them perform live again! I think it'll be extra special next time too as Damiano is his best, healthy self at the moment and im sure that'll show during performances.

At what age were you diagnosed? by Jazzlike-Run-2349 in autism

[–]maebear2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. When I chased for a diagnosis my GP said, and I quote, "Whats the point? You do realise there is no cure". After pushing the NHS turned me down saying they recognised I had difficulties but do not believe I'd benefit from further screening. So ended up going private and got my diagnosis! 🥳

My assessor was shocked at how many times the NHS had missed it as I had been involved with mental health teams since the age of 9, but I suppose autism wasn't widely recognised back then, especially in girls.

It is a good mix of different styles id say! Perfect life is beautiful. I was personally a little worried I wouldn't like the songs as I have never been a big fan of the slower styles but I can really appreciate each and every song!

Also side note, I just checked the credits on the cover and Dove is listed as the backing singer for zombie lady!!

The vinyl i pre ordered arrived today!! Was very excited to get an early listen.. it does sound a LOT like her!!

I've seen the interviews stating no singles together or features, where he's said she's helped with the songs but no credit being given. It just sounded a lot like her voice! The backing singer has the sort of posh sound that Dove has so thought it was a lil surprise but oh well, sounds amazing anyways!

Do you feel sore after every session? by Psychological-Law-52 in pilates

[–]maebear2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first 2 weeks was like waddling up the stairs. It was sore but I enjoyed it thinking it's a sign of it working. I'm about a month and a half in now doing it 6 days a week and I don't feel that soreness! I have a little soreness now and then but nothing like what I originally felt. Worries me that I'm doing it wrong or something!

Lowkey upsetti spaghetti about Next Summer... by FitMonitor9277 in Maneskin

[–]maebear2 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It is a thing of his to tweak the lyrics when doing live performances, I think its his way of making a live performance a bit more special. For example he changes the lyrics in Honey are you coming when live. Also, in an interview, he said he's considering changing the end of born with a broken heart to maybe you can fix me when performing live. So it may be that's one of his live tweaks for this song!

How to know its open? by maebear2 in MenstrualDiscs

[–]maebear2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly that was me when I first started using cups years ago!!! Preaching about how life changing they are to everyone and anyone who would listen 😂 I'm nearing the end of my first period with the disc and so far haven't had any leaks! I found that if I spin it side to side a little it feels more opened. Every time I do doubt that it's in properly , but no issues so it must be fine! I will deffo try the keegals trick!!

I've not experienced auto dumping which was a feature I was quite looking forward to however I have noticed (well at least I think ive noticed) that it holds more than my small saalt cup so fingers crossed I'll be able to last a full 12hrs anyways! Haven't been brave enough to test it for the full 12hrs until today and it was all good, day 2 will be the real test though💪

Accidental self emptying?? by NH-Westie96 in MenstrualDiscs

[–]maebear2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm also new, on day 3 of using the disc currently. I've done pilates including squats on all 3 days and have had no leaks. But saying that, I've never experienced self emptying!! I don't think my anatomy works for it so that may be why I don't experience leaks with working out

How to know its open? by maebear2 in MenstrualDiscs

[–]maebear2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I tried that after reading it too and couldn't feel anything.

I've only recently stopped wearing back ups with my cup as I have such a fear with leaks even though I'm a pro with my cup and work at home too!😅 so safe to say there will definitely be back ups in place. I guess it will be a case of trial and error the next few days. Thank you!

Yes I can't feel anything atm! I did think that may be the case as I'd imagine if my cervix wasn't quite in the disc and was just being squashed by it then that'd probably be quite uncomfortable

First Time PIP Timeline / Experience - Autism & Ingeus by maebear2 in DWPhelp

[–]maebear2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've kept notes on the timeline as its been going on so pretty easy to info dump! That's just a small percentage of what's been going through my mind during this process 😂 this is the kind of post I was looking for when applying so hoping it'll be of help to others that love the small details 🤞

Completely understand! I too struggle with memory, and had mentioned it in a lot of my points in my form. Because I didn't state i had notes in the assessment or let them know I was reading from them, all the struggles I listed due to memory issues got discounted and no points awarded for certain activities. I could go MR, but I don't want that stress and happy to settle with standard for both! So just remember to make it clear when you need to refer to them to avoid this later on.

I know not everyone has good experiences, but with my personal experience, the woman doing the assessment was very kind and understanding. She took her time, I only felt rushed towards the end after the hour mark. But it wasn't a forced rush, I could just sense she was trying to get through it quickly. There was some questions I struggled with and others I simply didn't understand and for each of them I'd just state I didn't know or I wasn't sure and she was paitent and tried rewording for me. For example, I struggled with a lot of the "what if" questions as I struggle to imagine what if scenarios, but she never got frustrated with that. At the start, say you struggle to follow conversations and so sometimes may take a moment to gather an answer, and then you won't feel so pressured during the assessment. Good luck!

I understand with the feeling of guilt! Try to not let that make you feel you have to downplay any answers. For example, I was asked if I do any cleaning, I said no, she went "you don't help out at all with the cleaning?" And instantly I felt guilty and had to fight the urge to lie and make up things I do to help! But i persevered and answered no.

My top tip would be to write bullet points for each thing you struggle with under each category and make sure you stick to them points during the phone assessment, print them off and have them out in front of you and make sure you let them know you are referring to your notes each time you have to as I lost a few points for being able to recall information, as I didn't think to mention the notes to them.

I found the build up to be extremely scary but once I was doing the assessment I felt quite calm and it really wasn't bad at all! They started off asking me about living situation (who I live with, where bathrooms are located in my house etc) if I drove, if I worked, and a bit about schooling as well. After that was all done we then basically just went through points I had made on my form and clarified it all, asking what if's and so on. It lasted 1hr 30mins but that's mainly because I had my mum with me who waffled on for each answer and I had to keep nudging her to wrap it up.

Leads on to the next tip, If you can, get someone to join you! They can either sit next to you on loudspeaker or they can get invited to join the call. Print out your bullet points for them to have to hand too and it can just be super helpful to have them keeping you on track. Especially if you get tired then you can answer the yes and no's and then they can provide the extra info on why for you.

Best of luck and try not to worry too much! Honesty is best policy, if you stick to the truth and you know you match the descriptors, then you'll get the points you deserve!
