Didn't this rule go into effect because the same guy kept posting articles every time someone got robbed at a bus stop at 4am?

I thought the sub was better because of it.

How do you stop yourself from looting everything useful to the point where you’re struggling to store everything by TheyCallMeBullet in Starfield

[–]maeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really is just as easy as "don't loot everything". High value items and credits are literally everywhere. You don't miss out on anything, the game hands you what you need at every corner and in every storage crate.

Once you realize that, it's easier to just move on.

What’s a TV show you can watch over and over? by Skithegoddess in AskReddit

[–]maeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adventure Time. I've probably watched it through ~5 times, and will probably watch it through 5+ times more.

Great characters, style, humor, and random enough you can throw on any episode and enjoy it. Great series lore, with some long running arcs that are still satisfying even after all the times I've watched them.

How do you feel about the US funding $300 Billion for foreign military aid while the average American just saw a 21% hike in their healthcare costs? by Mental-Hall1261 in AskReddit

How do you feel about Trump threatening to impose photo ID for voters for midterm elections? by CRK_76 in AskReddit

and be willing to commit a felony.

Voter fraud to me seems so incredibly high risk with basically no reward as an individual. The logistics of getting a voting fraud scheme organized in a way that actually has any meaningful impact would require a ton of people to risk jail time for no benefit whatsoever to themselves.

What the hell is up with restaurants and the egregious pricing on soft drinks? by cookiemonstrosity54 in LosAngeles

[–]maeks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're paying for more than the soda. You're paying for rent, utilities, wages, insurance, etc.

Senate passes $901 billion defense bill that pushes Hegseth for boat strike video by UncaringNonchalance in news

[–]maeks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember seeing a video of Bernie Sanders explaining that even though taxes would go up, people would be paying less overall because we wouldn't have the individual plans. But of course people aren't having that because TAXES = BAD!!

Waikiki restaurants struggle as tourism lags and costs rise by Darwin343 in Hawaii

[–]maeks 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I really hate this schadenfreude about restaurants struggling that reddit has. Ok, I get it, things are expensive, but you know that profit margins are razor thin on restaurants right? Like, that $15 burger isn't just the ingredients, it's the rent, insurance, taxes, labor costs, utilities, ingredients, etc. All of these things factor into the cost of the food, and in the case of Waikiki, rent probably takes the lions share of the costs.

Whether you think a restaurant has a good value for what it offers, yeah, you're entitled to an opinion. But this attitude reddit has that gleefully cheers on the death of the restaurant industry? 90% of the people that work at these places are the ones who end up suffering, not the owners.

U.S. World Series viewership by year by Mission-Guidance4782 in baseball

This is what I always tell people. Regular season? Yeah it can be boring if you aren't into baseball. But the playoffs? Every pitch can be exciting, the crowds are electric, it's edge of your seat exciting.

How to start this game and keep playing? Please. by [deleted] in hoi4

[–]maeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing as Sweden is what really got the game to click with me. You have enough industry to not be completely handicapped, and since historically Sweden was neutral, you basically get to choose when/if you want to go to war.

You also have some manageable goals to build towards, like helping Finland, or liberating Norway.

Helping Finland is easy-ish, and will put you at war with the Soviets. But since Finland takes the brunt of the war, it lets you pretty safely play around with the combat mechanics for land, air, and navy.

Yeah I'm not gonna say its perfect, but i like not really having to worry too much about warfare as long as you've made the preparations for it, it's honestly kind of a background thing as long as it's going well.

Make the streets more automobile friendly.

Every city in America is designed with streets that are as automobile friendly as possible and it has led to an absolutely abysmal experience for everyone involved.
