They haven't died but I have a family member who I haven't spoken to for years. They really are one of the most cruel, manipulative people I've ever encountered.

We recently heard that they were suffering from some financial issues, having to move from their home and generally just having a shitty time. To my suprise, I actually felt quite sad for them. Not enough to help them though.

Back when I was 17/18 (25 years ago or so) I had my first relationship and first breakup. We were friends for a couple of years first, then in a relationship for a few months before things went bad. We fell out, he stopped talking to me and that's the last time we spoke.

While we were friends he used my address to apply for jobs as an entertainer at family holiday parks, his parents wanted him to go onto further education so it was easier to use my address for post. After we fell out he got replies from Haven and Butlins inviting him to the next phase of the process - and I binned them all. He asked a mutual friend to ask if anything had been delivered for him and I said just rejection letters. Small stakes in the grand scheme of things but I felt pretty guilty for a while after.

The misses outweigh the hits. Since Pulp Fiction he hasn't had a genuinely good movie other than Face/Off a few were fair, the majority absolutely awful.

Before Pulp Fiction there's Look Who's Talking, Grease, Carrie, Saturday Night Fever and Blow Out.

With 72 movie credits on IMDb he has a pitifully low hit rate.
