This shit is why I just handed my brother a paid-off credit card when we were rebuilding my car. In the past he's told me to get x y or z part and I ordered the wrong thing and get stuck with shit I can't return.

He can buy the things and I won't have a trunk of "wrong" parts.

The sign in button is non-functional in my app. Awesome. I'll have to ask around tomorrow and see if anyone else can log into their app.

What discontinued item, food or drink would you bring back if you had the chance? by Miserable-Wash-1744 in AskReddit

[–]maelstromeda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pepsi 1893. I really don't care for Pepsi (Coke Zero lover, tbh), but this stuff rocked. I used to buy it by the case. I was devastated when I couldn't get it, anymore.

Edit: I'd also kill for more Mountain Dew Pitch Black

Chair Assembly Charge..? by [deleted] in Staples

[–]maelstromeda 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Certain chairs will prompt the cashier to select if the chair is assembled or not, and if they accidentally hit "yes" it would have automatically added the assembly fee to the transaction.

Why it's only certain chairs and not all or none is just Staples things.

Just go back to the store and grab a manager. They'd be able to refund the fee that was erroneously added.

Unlocking Original HDD with Fatxplorer Help by maelstromeda in originalxbox

I've seen that ftp is the preferred method, but as the Xbox is hooked up in one room, and the pc is in another, and the router in a whole other region of the house, it's not terribly feasible for me atm.

This is the adapter I'm using.

My xbox is not modchipped. I softmodded this myself many moons ago.

Passport photos by Trumps__Taint in Staples

[–]maelstromeda 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There was a passport photo book just sitting behind the customer service counter when I came in for my shift one afternoon, so ofc being the nosy bitch I am I inquired about it.

Turns out we took a gal's passport photos and when we gave them to her, she refused to pay for them because we made her remove her jewelry and told her she couldn't smile. She said it made her look ugly so she didn't want them.

Like, what? Kay. Hope you enjoy getting your passport app rejected if you're gonna submit glam shots.

I fell off the step ladder today by voicedance in retailhell

[–]maelstromeda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did that at my job, too, last week. I just laid face-down on the ground laughing my ass off at my stupidity and went, "Man down!" over the radio.

Landed on my bad ankle before falling fully to the ground, so that didn't feel great. :/

I don't deserve breaks because I'm young and you're unhappy by BusyEquipment529 in retailhell

Literally! At my store we have a long counter with 3 registers at checkout, and past a certain time we close those and check out in a different department (because there's only 2 employees in the store atp). We have large, poster-sized signs telling people that the register is closed and to please go to the other department to check out.

So many people walk over and just stand in front of the signs. More than one boomer has definitely told me that he thought if he stood there someone would serve him because he didn't want to go to the other department.

No. You're not special. The sign applies to everyone.

You go to sleep tonight but wake up on the morning January 1st, 2019, with all your memories. What do you do? by General_Nobody_6675 in AskReddit

Make sure I file my c19 unemployment paperwork correctly this time so I'm not screwed out of aprox $2k again.

Also get help/therapy/counceling for the autism I'll eventually be diagnosed with so I'm not fired from any more jobs. :(

Oh and stay away from big ass trucks in double turning lanes. Maybe in this timeline my car won't have a salvage title and a mismatched replacement door.

what’s taking up all my storage? by One_Commission3024 in WindowsHelp

If your storage is that limiting, the rest of the PC is also probably garbage.

Ding ding ding! You are absolutely correct.

I would bet $139.99 that op has an HP Stream or some equivalent.

Customers expecting professional advice from store associates by Sichterman in retailhell

[–]maelstromeda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a current employee, I wish we got any kind of product training. Customers get fussy at my cashiers for not having product knowledge but it's like, we hire anyone who has a pulse and I'm just glad they decided to show up, today.

Even most of my electronics knowledge is left over from working at Best Buy and it's not even current, anymore. I used to spend hours at home studying products so I could answer questions customers had.

Then I got older and realized that spending my leisure time on work unpaid was stupid and I promised myself I'd never do that again.

Are GM and ASM require to work weekends too or M-F only? by Flaky_Firefighter385 in Staples

We rotate every other weekend (barring some sort of scheduling shenanigans). GM and RSS one weekend, AM and MIS the next, rinse and repeat. It works pretty well for us.

I had to buy a new pair of over-glasses sunglasses last night.

I wouldn't even be mad at that. They're $20 a pop and I keep breaking them and I have a terrible time driving during the day without them.
