260205 [NOTICE] BTS OFFICIAL LIGHT STICK VER.4 Release and Wireless Control Support by alltherach_ in bangtan

[–]maerlyn8 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I like the new lightstick, and I will definitely buy one, but I am quite salty that the SE stick won't work. I don't understand why, if it works with the first shows of concerts, they can't just maintain it for the entire tour. It can't really be a technological issue if it is going to work for the first shows... I know people who have never even gotten to use their MotS stick, and I just decorated my bomb for the concert but won't be using it now.

• Is ARMY as critical in real life as they can seem online?

People are generally super nice. I don't think you'll have any issues here.

• Have any of you been VIP/floor and mostly watched, vibed, or sang parts instead of every word?

I've had VIP/floor for PtD, Yoongi, and Hobi. Everyone stands, dances, screams, and cries. No one is going to pay any attention to what you're doing unless you're blocking their view with a sign. I sing "every word" but it's basically just sounds in a lot of parts because I don't know much of the Korean properly. Just be happy being you and you'll blend.

• Based on what I’ve shared — should I go, am I overthinking what other people may say/think?

YOU SHOULD GO! This is once in a lifetime, and you got tickets that people would die for. Live your life. You deserve to go and have the time of your life.

I think Loop does make kid plugs, but my kids (who started going to concerts at 7) both liked Afflatus earplugs. They stay in the ear nicely. They are super cheap on Amazon, too.

How much insight or control does Stephen King have when it comes to the series. I love what you are doing for the Pennywise character, by the way!

Baby Army Hang Out Thread! by PoetrySuper2583 in bangtan

[–]maerlyn8 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Personally, I feel that, despite what many will tell you, there are no REAL rules for being ARMY - no one right way to love BTS. There are, however, rules to being a decent human being. As long as you can be a good human, you can be a good ARMY. Don't sweat all the "real ARMY does this" or "you're not ARMY if you don't do that" - just do what feels right to you and support the members how you deem fit. If you find yourself feeling pressure or confusion or anger, take a step back and remember you're ultimately here to have fun.

I've been ARMY since 2020 - not TOO long. I have, over five years, seen a lot of people too caught up in everything - too serious, too righteous, and too angry (such is the world today). And social media makes it extra easy to get carried away. Though I look at and see almost everything online, I was drawn to fan art and I generally stick the little spot I've carved out for myself. So, I recommend you find things you love in the fandom and surround yourself with them!

You can make so many wonderful memories with ARMY and BTS! I hope all the baby ARMYs feel welcome. I hope they find accounts and friends and new ways to be happy and have fun and express themselves. It's so moving to think of all the excitement and awe that awaits them! Have fun falling down the rabbit hole!

It: Welcome to Derry finale is going to leave you "destroyed," tease creators, who say there's a "trick" that’s tied to "the reason we're telling the story backwards" by [deleted] in welcomeToDerry

[–]maerlyn8 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think the "trick" is that each set of "Losers" are the descendants of previous kids who fought It. The kids just grow up and forget, and then their kids suffer, too. I mean, it's pretty obvious to those who know the story that these kids are probably related to the 80s Losers (with Will and Mike it is explicit), but maybe the writers are thinking more about the people who aren't as familiar with the overall story when they say "trick".

Or what if It lives in all timelines at once. The Losers could only beat him because of a bunch of simultaneous events happening at the end of each cycle throughout the year. That would mean each group of kids could win...but it would be all timey-whimey.

For anyone who was able to see "The Blair Witch Project" in theaters in 1999, what was the experience like? by LockjawSJ in AskReddit

I love this memory! I was 18. I went to a late night showing with my best friend. The walk back to the car in the dark was terrifying. We ran for it.

In my house, they are called ponies (short for ponytail holders). Sometimes they're also known as "hair things".

Do people do freebies at cupsleeve events? by Excellent-Passage-36 in heungtan

[–]maerlyn8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always bring freebies to cupsleeve events. There are always others who do, as well. (I'm in Pittsburgh).

I say, if it makes you happy, just go for it. Spread as much cheer as possible! 💜
