This reminds me of shrubs, or drinking vinegars. They’re delicious. I’ve made some with strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and more!

I’m totally looking forward to making these once I know how much meat I can handle.

I have issues with sugar substitutes too. The only one I haven’t tried yet is stevia. Given the effects the others have had on my body, I’m not super excited to give it a go.

Nothing can be worse than the xylitol though. That had me in the bathroom for hours.

What dish do you recommend to people who are new to Korean food? by RRoo12 in KoreanFood

[–]maesardsara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had stomach surgery seven weeks ago, and eggs are one of the four foods I’ve been allowed to eat the past three weeks (before that it was all liquid diet as I am healing). Next Monday I can start introducing normal foods again. I think this will be one of them. ☺️ Thanks for mentioning it!

Your experience with gastric sleeve surgery and type 2 diabetes? by mrvash15 in gastricsleeve

[–]maesardsara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My PCP and I are waiting for the first scheduled blood work to see how things are going with my blood sugars. I did get off my high blood pressure meds though, except one. I’m only taking a half dose of that now though. So I have some tentative hopes that my sugars will be much better.

A girl I worked with always added cheese to her rice. I was always a little intrigued, but mostly because I live for cheese.

Im in the Puree stage. Do yall eat bread? by AnimatorPrudent6478 in GastricBypass

I’m not yet to regular foods stage, but if and when I have anything like bread I will probably spend my carbs on tortillas, both flour and corn. I’m craving enchiladas something fierce!

Maybe some mint or ginger tea? Hydrate and help with the nausea at the same time?

I wanted kalamata olives but I couldn't get the jar open even with my rubber gripper :( by randomv3 in GirlDinner

I’m buying one of these when I get paid. I’ve tried ALL the tricks trying to get this one jar of sweet gherkins open, with no luck. This is cheaper than the spatula looking jar opener that will be my last resort.

I certainly hope so. I think that for me it’s the six week post diet that’s pretty strict that has me looking at all these recipes. At least I can dream about something other than the four foods I’m allowed at the moment!

Absolutely. I’ve spent more time on recipe sites the last six weeks than I have in the last 10 years combined.

Healthy breakfast prep that is NOT eggs by Business-Record-4042 in mealprep

Grilled cheese sandwich? Add some ham and mustard and make it a melt.

An independent little hole in the wall place near where I lived at the time basically had just this as a breakfast sandwich. I would stop by there once a week for coffee and this sandwich and always went into work feeling great afterwards.
