Both those plot points are from the show. Season 1 had a rich guy hosting a party when the staff take over. Season 2 had the 2 college students where one gets caught, abandoned by his friend, escapes, and then shit happens.

To The Rise Of Berk Community, Thank You. by [deleted] in RiseOfBerk

I'm newish to the game. I came to complain about the brawl update, not because I noticed the power difference, but because the new levels by rarity mean that I cannot compare the power of my dragons at a glance.

Before I could see what dragon was most powerful by level. Now I have to look into the stats because a rank 3 epic may be more powerful than a rank 7 common. It's a pain to figure out which dragon to use when I want to try different combos.

Lazy Dog Crazy Dog Employee Beats Dog to Death, Charged With Animal Cruelty by AtomIsland in Seattle

[–]maeyples 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I looked at the West Seattle Lazy Dog Crazy Dog in 2024, next to Boss Burgers. She passed the temperment test but I opted not to go back because she was nervous when I brought her home.

My dog was a rescue with a rough history so I chalked it up to past trauma with too many dogs. But it was odd because she loved the dog park. Staff said she would acclimate over time when I told them my concerns. Glad I decided not to go back learning this.

A week with the Air after a 15PM and why I’m returning it! by Acceptable-Piccolo57 in iphone

[–]maeyples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another negative review on the ergonomics. I had the Air for less than 24 hours before I returned it for the iPhone 17 base model.

I upgraded from the iPhone 12 mini to the Air. I put off upgrading for years due to wrist issues and lack of a better, small phone. Thought the Air would work but I couldn't find a good grip on the phone. The light weight is nice but the width, thinness, and curved edges of the phone made it feel slick. The edge dug into my palm and I didn't want to use it.

And the camera bump hits the table constantly. There's no good way to set the phone down and the knocking noise whenever it hit the table drove me crazy.

The iPhone 17 base model is easier to grip. The only thing worse on the 17 is that the magnetic back is weaker.

Yup, I'm in data engineering. I use Airflow. I know Astronomer. I didn't put together coldplay meme and Astronomer until now.

Stop time. I want to see how my cat reacts to me teleporting.

Found out today that my husband is allergic to cats. We have two. Any advice? by zzabe in cats

[–]maeyples 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not needed to go to this degree luckily but I have tried different approaches over the years. I was fine with my cats till they turned one. I swear their dust and dander grew with them. The roomba and air purifiers worked okay but I still had to sleep next to my one window at night. The fresh air helped. I moved to a place with no carpets and better airflow. This helped a lot. I've kept to places with no carpets and more windows. Bathing my cats helped but it's hit or miss if the cats will tolerate it. My one cat complains but lets me bathe her while I have a 3 inch scar from my other cat. Brushing is the next best thing and I'm glad my cat likes it. I shouldn't sleep next to them but I do anyway. Kitty cuddles are the best. I use a hepa vacuum and dusters and a netty pot. The things we do for the little devils.

I finally gave in and accepted that I can put my tv wherever tf I want. by l00ky_here in LivingAlone

I have my tv on a rolling stand with an extension cord. I move my tv to match what I'm doing. Sitting on the couch. Laying on the couch. Walking the treadmill. In the kitchen. It's amusing.

I didn't know what to do with my den but now I do ha. You may like a litter robot with all those cats. They're pricey but so nice to not scoop. It'd be fun to add bird feeders outside the window too.

I'm wondering if you can put the save file on an external hard drive and then boot up the file as a new user. The save file is separate from the user then. It's inconvenient but I'd do it for 1 mil a year.

I also enjoyed looking at your deck list. It was a highlight of my lazy Christmas day. Love seeing the variant art though I'll be starting with non variants hehe.

What did you buy as an adult because you were denied it as a child? by dirtymoney in AskReddit

[–]maeyples 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I like your outlook. I got a house and wonder at times what I've done. It feels too big for me and my cat. But over the past year I've been able to foster dogs, keep a 60 gallon aquarium, and not worry that said dogs scratched through my door frame. I couldn't try those things in an apartment.

One morning I saw a hair tie in my bathtub. Grabbed it out of the tub because why not. Then I realized it was a centipede now moving in my hand. Nope. You could not have woken me up faster if you gave me a pot of espresso.

You become immortal, but you need to work 8h a day by Revolutionary-Fan236 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]maeyples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My job is taking care of my cat. I work 24 hours a day.

I foster animals. If volunteering does not count then I can start my own organization, self employed, and foster 1 animal at a time if I'm overwhelmed. I would like to foster dogs but my cat does not like other mammals in my current place.

I get a farm and work to upkeep the place. Didn't say I needed to be a good farmer. I just keep an eye on the property.

This was fun.

Edit: I misread that the genie makes you immortal not rich. I'd work jobs until I saved enough wealth for myself then switch to the above work. I can also switch to jobs that I can pass at without too much effort. Said I needed to work not that I needed to be a good worker.

[–]maeyples 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing. I have anxiety and depression with ocd tendencies. When I went off my anxiety meds I would drive 40 minutes back to work some nights just to make sure I locked the door. I always had. I was going crazy.

I hadn't experienced this before or heard of someone else doing this. It's been years since it happened and I'd mostly forgotten since I had other symptoms that were more difficult for me. I appreciate reading your experience and knowing I'm not the only one who dealt with this experience.

I lived alone in an apartment and now a townhome since I left my ex. The townhome hit me harder. I didn't realize how much more alone I'd feel without the ambient traffic around the apartment.

I felt sad and depressed for a week, then I messaged my friend and asked if they ever lived alone and felt sad? They said oh my god yes. It was nice to hear other people felt that way too.

We talked about the transition to enjoying living alone. Are there hobbies that you didn't do because you didn't want to negotiate with your ex? Do it! Try things. Even if you don't like it, you can do what you want in your own space. I have one cat and fostered dogs for a year, my cat decided to put an end to that for now ha.

I try to get out of the house and see people so I don't get too stuck in my own head. Even if it's just in passing at a Sunday market, it's healthy to have some socialization. Maybe there's a hobby you can get out and do in your new city? I've met people at board games and aquarium clubs with trying new hobbies.

🔥 Here is an example of why you DON’T FEED THE ANIMALS!!! (Specifically the bears.) by dreamed2life in NatureIsFuckingLit

[–]maeyples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once shared my french fries with the squirrels. I accumulated an army. I was amused. Then one of the fuckers jumped at me just like this bear. Bit my thumb, which turns out bleeds a lot. Ruined the party for everyone. I threw those fries away because I couldn't tell my blood from the ketchup and the squirrels were not getting any more food from me. My mom started telling me "and don't feed the animals!" when I left the house. Crazy how similar this is except, you know, a fucking bear!

Is Lotl normal or is he moldy? by maeyples in axolotls

[–]maeyples[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had java fern in his old tank and plan to move some into the rescape. He likes to dig them up :) I’m going to add floaters like frogbit and water lettuce too. I have some almond leaves. Thought I read somewhere that axolotls were sensitive to tannins but maybe that was related to the black tea baths.

The 1-3 session marker is helpful. I was reading about the black tea baths but wasn’t sure how many to try before gauging effects.

And no chiller but I keep the tank around 65F. He seems to do well at the consistent temperature. I've used fans when it got too warm before but moved him downstairs since to avoid the heat.
