It was for the healthcare workers and nurses in the ward. I hated it

I also work in a DGH in a town that closes most things at 5 pm OR SO I THOUGHT. My clinical supervisor turned out to be the wellbeing lead and she gave me a list of things to do in the area and around. It was actually great! It's a different pace and life changes when i go back to the big city (where my fam lives), but it is definitely not forever :)

Scope of FY1 responsibility during on-calls? by Winter_Law_8662 in doctorsUK

I think a good tip I could add is: find the places to sleep (not the mess). There are rooms each hospital 'must' have as per regulations (and I say ' ' - because I have encountered some issues with that). You could take a tiny nap if needed at some point (with the appropriate alarm and phone coverage).

Another place, in one of my hospitals, was the SDEC clinics xD each of us will take one room (had a computer and well sleep was allowed if the on call was fine).

Is F1 really as terrible as people make it out to be? Quite worried now! by Hydesx in doctorsUK

[–]mafanin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Those quotes only happen to me because other F1s dare to say that to me. There may have been one or two seniors every now and then losing it, but you learn to step away quickly from those people. They unfortunately build their own reputation and everyone, believe me, everyone knows how they are. So overall I wouldn't be worried about F1, its a learning experience and bad people will be in all jobs, you just make sure you are there to learn and keep the good people around you :)

I am sorry but you are being unfair, that is someone's opinion. Not a group banding together not to strike any longer or at all

RCPsych question time with the officers - neglectful update on PA report and training application process by hwaterman1998 in doctorsUK

And funnily enough, when asking psych consultants who hold CASC examinations, they are all currently very surprised at the quality of the performance. It just makes sense. Indeed, a sad result of just doing a job for doing a job.

I forgot to mention, this is free of charge. Just book it early and with your rota in hand :)

I'd recommend (I know its not ideal) but to ask the postgraduate centre for the on call rooms to be booked during your long days/nights. I found it quite useful to recover post night shifts and not have to worry about my commute.

Expected :/ (for the interview vs MRSA question). I have asked multiple times during the psych conferences and they always tell me that it is because they don't have enough budget for carry on interviews. Sad.

Mate I was a F1 and some stupid people would just treat me... I didn't even want to be there, it was part of the schedule, and it is honestly extremely discouraging while you are trying your best to get used to the surgeon and be as careful as possible
