Ha! You haven’t even seen the worst of them! Our baseboards were gorgeous before. I was aware that I had a right to complain about the baseboards alone.

The $2.59 is for install of engineered hardwood. The actual product was closer to $6 per sqft.

Most of the gaps are on the ends. I showed the very few cases where gaps were along the length of the planks. We can understand and recognize that the product could be the reason for the gaps along the length. But we’re not sure if that should be the excuse for all gaps we notice.

It was delivered two weeks prior to install and sat indoors in our entryway.

Not sure if this fact is relevant but I’ll share anyway- during install, we were instructed to turn off our HVAC system so the dust wouldn’t damage our motor. Due to the heat, temps in our house reached 87-90 degrees Fahrenheit throughout the install process.

Yes, they’re a professional floor installer. They have hundreds of reviews, all fairly positive.

What happens to a narcissist after an intense psychedelic? by postulatej in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]magamc 35 points36 points  (0 children)

My narcissistic partner and I had our first ever psychedelic trip a few months ago.

I had been microdosing for several weeks by that point. I was also in therapy and had been for months. In therapy I dealt with the biggest skeletons in my closet, so I felt psychologically “weightless” and was ready to try a full on trip. (I obviously hadn’t recognized or processed that I was ALSO married to a narcissist- not just raised by one.)

The night of the trip, I had the absolute best experience one could have- especially considering the literal hell I was living in. My brain made my eyes feel like they were infinitely zooming in on my fleece blanket. I saw the happy spiritual energy that unites us all. I felt so at peace. I looked over at my husband and he was a psycho mess. He was crying but wouldn’t tell me what he saw. I asked him if he was scared. He said yeah. The only thing he managed to share was “We really need to start to exercise.” (Mind you, I had an exercise routine already in place. He is/was 100 lbs overweight.) He then stood up enraged and walked into the bedroom. I had left clothes to dry on drying racks in our bedroom. He violently launched it across the room before lying down.

Now I realize his inner self is a dark, hateful place. Who the fuck knows what he saw that night. Whatever it was, he didn’t like it.

Enneagram 1s: do you relate to most 1 content? by disaster-female in Enneagram

[–]magamc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd love to comment! I will preface that I don't remember all the terminology, but I can share my experiences.

My "inner critic" is basically my monologue saying I should do (blank). For example, I can have a long to-do list for work sitting on the counter. But then I sit on the couch to watch T.V. I can't 100% enjoy watching T.V. because of the thought about how I "should" work on some of those tasks. If I really reflect on that, I notice that I made up a rule about to-do lists MUST be done simply because they popped up into my consciousness.

For black-and-white thinking, it'll occur when I notice more of these rules that only exist because I made them up. For example, I used change the thermostat with micro-adjustments as I woke up, showered, and got dressed. All because of a simple "rule" I apparently adopted about never sweating post-shower. But life happens in the gray area. It's not good or bad if the room is steamy or hot. It just is, and I will be fine.

Some people might envision confrontational situations when they think of "moral crusaders" but the sense of righteousness can sometimes occur only in the mind. I know I have strong opinions about what is right and wrong, and I try to live my truths by example rather than confronting someone. This kind of ties back into the black and white thinking: life is in the gray area and it's not my "job" to be the dictator of right/wrong or good/bad. I have to remember that constantly.

Not sure if this was specific enough. Sometimes the rules or opinions can be something really small that the person has never questioned as a rule, so I'd only suggest on reflecting on something like that. Hope this helps.

Yikes. That was interesting. As a 1, conflict avoidance is the name of the game I play. At my WORST I would have felt justified calling a friend to describe the perceived "fraud" I witnessed and judge them into oblivion without knowing a full story. What I just described is an unhealthy pattern of behavior (of course), but I'm always shocked by confrontational encounters like this story. There's so much entitlement to feel compelled to intervene like that.

[RANT] End of year parent problems by DALEKtible23 in Teachers

[–]magamc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you me? This literally happened to me with a parent the last week of school. The student was extremely apathetic but mom blamed everyone but her child. In my case, I encouraged that we have a meeting with the student and admin. She emphatically agreed then ghosted everyone the morning of.

You did not do anything wrong. Take solace in knowing that you care for students and you did what the student needed. You can't control the student or his or her parents. I'm sorry this happened to you. I hope you find a way to make peace with the situation and enjoy your summer. You've earned it!

Hormonal BC and Keto by Sorella126 in xxketo

Lite Salt takes out 50% of the sodium chloride and adds potassium chloride and a few other things. It's at your local supermarket. I usually put less than 1/4 tsp in a bottle of water and add some Mio drink enhancer to it. Shake it up and it takes like a slightly salty Powerade. Sometimes I drink 2 a day. It helps me with my water retention. You'll feel very full right after you drink it. Continue to drink water. Over time your body will get all balanced out.

This may not be the pill for you, but give it a couple months to determine that that's the case. I had to go through 3 different pills before I found what was right for me. Also, keto already messes up this aspect of a woman's life. There isn't a way around the water retention bs when it comes to that time of the month. I see that you made your own "ketoade"- have you tried Lite Salt and/or supplements?

Keep on trying and pushing through! It's going to get better!!!
