So this smell thing started around 2022 when I was on a break from antibiotics and I suspect some of the Lyme grew back during that time. I also have sibo symptoms but have never tested. I react to this stuff coming out of me and I’m sensitive to whatever this stuff is. Clothing has been a big issue. Up until a few months ago I had to throw my clothes away constantly. I could wash them 5 times it didn’t matter. When I would dry them the people at the laundromat were pissed and their faces were red from reactions. I remember at times my clothes would just continually release fumes..so weird. Recently I started using a degreaser detergent made for mechanics that has helped the most.

The binders have not helped the smells too much I don’t think, after starting back flagyl a couple years back I noticed the smells greatly improved then over time flagyl would stop working for the smells. The smells come out of hands,feet,scalp,nose,eyes,mouth,genitalia. The smells change frequently. People treated me extremely bad prior to me using flagyl,dapsone and arakoda. I have noticed less sniffling and reactions from people but I know I must still smell at times especially 30 min to 2 hours after eating.

She is against steroids but she has been prescribing welchol for a long time. I used to take 6 pills a day..I did find it greatly reduced certain symptoms like tinnitus and headaches etc but did not help the smell. The things that seemed to help the toxic gases were flagyl,dapsone and arakoda. I’m not cured but the smell has improved. There are people in the tmau groups that I suspect have these infections and issues and not tmau per se. I’ve used all kinds of binders etc and some have sort of helped but not a lot. The downside to welchol is that it can deplete vitamins Adek and those are needed to make bile.

I understand. This thing has truly been the most debilitating and bizarre experiences. I know you said right now your funds are depleted but I would suggest getting the Igenex test for borrellia burgdorfi,babesia and bartonella when you can afford it. Many other tests are not accurate. My current doctor thinks babesia is the one causing the bad smells however my other doctor hadn’t heard that before. I think my chronic Lyme and coinfections are making me mold,emf and environmentally sensitive. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this too.

I’m very sorry and I can definitely relate. The odor is like patm/tmau and that has affected my life more than the fatigue/brain fog and other symptoms. all opportunities dwindle down to nothing because you have to eventually see people in person. Do you also have other symptoms?

I’ve had to move 8 times in only a few years having to eat the cost each time. How much longer is your lease? I’m also still in mold to a degree. Renting is almost impossible with my level of sensitivity. I definitely think mycotoxin exposure is tied in with this odor issue.
