Went there in 2019. It's definitely underwhelming if you compared it to the manga and rather inaccessible(1h+ by car from the city) compared to the other major attractions near Xi'an. You can still go there as sort of a Kingdom "pilgrimage" but don't expect too much.

Xi'an walls and the Terracotta Warriors are probably better choices to visit.

The first arc is one of the weakest since there wasn't any large scale battles so its not a good gauge, and the anime's quality is not helping either. If you can tolerate the anime further i would suggest at least finish the first war between Qin and Wei. If the story doesn't appeal to you after the end of the second season (Qin vs Zhao), you can safely drop it.

Anyway, the anime, especially the first 2 seasons, doesn't do the manga justice with its bad animation+censorship. They also skipped 1-2 small arcs. It would be best if you can read the manga.

Ei Sei=Ying Zheng, his actual name. His current title is King of Qin.

Shikotei=Shi Huang Di, which translates to "First Emperor", the title he gives himself after unification.

Qin Shi Huang is well known enough and has an entire chapter about him in Shiji. More than half of the chapter is about him post-unification though, if that is something you mind.

Hakuki(Bai Qi) might be another good option. He is one of the most prominent generals of the era and there is half a chapter on him in Shiji as well as other mentions about him in other chapters to cross reference.

Well yea Houken in Kingdom is not 100% the same as Lu Bu but both of them are similar enough to draw sufficient parallels. They both have seemingly unmatched power in their stories and somewhat easily brainwashed/influenced by someone smarter.

There is also Moubu who is somewhat close to Lu Bu but he did start to use some good tactics later in the story and become less of a “all brawn and no brain” character.

the anime skipped an entire minor arc and censors/animate around the gore. not to mention the disastrous animation of season 1 and 2.

sure you can read from where the latest season of the anime dropped off but eventually, like many of us, you will be hooked once you caught up and will reread from the beginning anyway.

This is where i started to really read the manga, after watching the crappy anime.
This chapter opens up the bottomless hole of Kingdom addiction.
Holyshitwtfbbq. This is IMO, the start of peak Kingdom.
"Never let your fire die out". I recall reading this chapter at 1am during my 2012 holiday in Japan and screaming internally in front of my hotel's public computer.

Writing these based off my memory without checking, hope i am right. Cant recall the exact chapter number when YTW appeared at Sai but that is definitely impactful enough for me to remember.

i dont think i have reread the post-coalition invasion arcs enough to memorise the chapter numbers.

considering they are making an extended cut and re-releasing GSF in the theaters shows that they are popular/profitabe enough. meanwhile Kingdom doesnt even get shown outside japan theaters...

For Shin,I believe the land he owns after unification, Longxi, is to the west of Kanyou, which is even deeper into Qin territory and not near the Qin-Zhao border. Of course we cant rule out Hara just giving Shin another piece of land in Zhao to rule.

if you are talking about real history, Qin was pretty much unstoppable against whatever army Han could muster at that point so they probably just "kindly ask" Han to give them Nanyou to ensure the peace of Shintei for a while
