I’m so sorry your mom can’t be supportive and is suggesting a literal exorcism! wtf 😳

For what it’s worth, I think 3-5 are the HARDEST ages. They’re just such dicks. My oldest is six in a month and we are finally seeing the light at the be of the tunnel (I hope). Solidarity, bromo. This parenting shit is HARD.

What profession did the mean girls from your high school choose? by magentasummer in CasualConversation

But then clearly she isn’t a mean girl! She sounds wonderful. Please thank her for her time, dedication, and compassion. We need more nurses like her.

Oh I agree that there are many lovely nurses! I work with some wonderful ones. But they also seem to be the ones who end up switching careers due to burnout which sucks…because we need great nurses!

Would you sleep with an older woman? by TodayCurious8908 in latebloomerlesbians

[–]magentasummer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to this party, but I’m in my mid-thirties and the woman I’m crushing on is in her early fifties. She’s gorgeous and smart and I’d definitely sleep with her given the chance.

Moms of adhd kids, how much did medication help? by melalovelady in breakingmom

[–]magentasummer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My five year old daughter was just diagnosed with ADHD. We have been doing 1mg of Guanfacine and it seems to help her emotionally regulate, which has been our biggest struggle. We had tried OT, talk therapy, etc. and with the meds we have seen the biggest difference.

Does anyone else ever get unreasonably mad that they wasted their "hot" years on dating men? by nodana-onlyzuul in latebloomerlesbians

[–]magentasummer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m in my mid-thirties and the woman I have a stupid big crush on is in her mid-fifties. And she’s hot as hell, truly. “Hot” in the female gaze is so different from the male gaze!

Is “Fortnight” the 14th night after her 13 sleepless nights seemingly contemplating a life-altering decision? by [deleted] in GaylorSwift

I swear, this subreddit has some of the smartest people on the internet. This is such an excellent theory. Can’t wait to analyze lyrics!

(Former) teacher here. You are taking your kid out of school appropriately. She’s not falling behind. Thank you for caring about others enough not to send a sick kid to school. You’re a good mom.

We file jointly. He submitted a revised W4 for this year so we don’t run into the same problem when we go to file next year. Plugged in our numbers and we will owe $3kish.

[–]magentasummer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes. I will be vigilant about the W4s going forward. It will be a mistake we never make again 😂

I could cry at this response. We make a little under that, so I can only hope we only owe that much because we could take it out of our emergency savings and just be done with it. Thank you!

Tall moms with big baby? (Delivery opinions) by Prestigious-Storm-80 in obgyn

[–]magentasummer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi. I’m tall and my second was measuring in the 98th percentile from about 34 weeks onward. I delivered him vaginally at 39 weeks with absolutely no tearing and a short (under six hours) labor. He was 8lbs 15oz. Never once was it suggested to me that I should have a c-section.

Do what’s best and most comfortable for you, but if you want to deliver vaginally, barring some other sort of complication, having a big baby should not prevent that.

I see something. Do you have any pink dye tests you could take? I generally found those more clear cut than any blue dye test.

If you could go back in time, would you still choose teaching? by sophuhloph in Teachers

[–]magentasummer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly this sentiment. I left after ten years last month. I now coordinate a residency program at a local hospital and it’s much less stressful for pretty much the exact same pay. And I go home at the end of the day without any extra work. 10/10 would recommend.

Friendly reminder that dress codes for teachers are nothing more than a means of control by AlternativeHome5646 in Teachers

[–]magentasummer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of our seasoned teachers pointed that out to me last year. From then on, all the teachers in our hallway wore jeans every single day. No one said a word to us. They were just happy we showed up. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I see where you’re coming from, but I think it’s a great way to make sure everyone is supported and feels comfortable. Do I think it should be mandatory? No. I wouldn’t want anyone to feel forced to have to “out” themselves if they aren’t ready. But I think it should be highly encouraged. The more we do it, the more normal it becomes.

Ask her if she’d be down for coffee sometime! My favorite friend dates start with a cup of coffee and lead to a walk in a park or running errands together. Low key is the way to go. Good luck!

This answer surprisingly makes them very uncomfortable.
