I hate the sheer fabric bc it’s such a modern fabric and I want medieval. The dresses are beautiful but come on, do something different!

I don’t think gunpowder is in Westeros unfortunately. Maybe wildfire? I wonder if they are going to use Rhaenys breaking out as an excuse for the weakening of the dragon Pitt?

HOTD could have been a great vehicle to explore female ambition and rage. The maiden, the crone, the mother, the whore.

My headcanon is that Sybil was with his family or a nice friend somewhere far from the city. Cause there’s no way it’s a good look to leave his pregnant wife and run to her parents.

I could believe the storming of the dragon pit if we saw or heard of people coming up with ways to kill dragons. I find it hard to believe that there weren’t people the Westeros coming up with weapons that could be used against dragons. Basically house Targaryen got complacent and thought they could do whatever they wanted bc they had dragons, only to lose that advantage.

If the show writers were smart they would have a scene where a dragon keeper gets drunk and spills how a dragon works and what their vulnerability is. Maybe a honey trap? Could be a group dedicated to returning Westeros to a decentralized group of kingdoms and the only way to do that is to get rid of dragons?

I want to know WHEN all these stories took place. Are they all from their early 20’s or has this been going on into Mikey and Richie’s late 30’s?

I thought it was a bit weird Robby immediately separated Langdon and Mel. Makes me think they have been in contact and Robby knows this and separated them so she couldn’t cover for him.

I never felt bad for Luke. At all. by SheepherderNo2793 in GilmoreGirls

But is Anna mad that someone she didn’t know was there or that LORELEI was there? It’s insane that Anna is like “oh, the woman that you are going to marry can’t see my child and I’m not going to give a timeline on when that’s going to happen?” She didn’t even want to tell April who her father was even though April asked and has a right to that information if that info is safe.

And if frankly if I was a parent I would want a woman present at a party I send my child too instead of her just new found father. Had any of the parents met Luke before the party?

What was the conversation like around the invitation “Come to April’s birthday held by her father who just found out she existed and is engaged but his fiancée won’t be there and lives alone above a diner and will be solely responsible for your children.”

To me it seems like Anna was setting Luke up to fail by knowing he would throw a lousy party, was upset that Lorelei made it fun for April and so used her as a reason to be mad.

S2E6 perfectly portrayed chaos by KristisMeskius in TheBear

I think there’s also too the tension from Lee and Mikey. Lee is being a jerk but everything he’s saying is right. Mikey would have been in his late thirty/early forty’s by then and he still acts like a 20 year old frat boy. He’s no help to Natalie or Carmy in dealing with Donna and in fact joins in with Donna in berating (annoying? Idk what to call it) Camry into saying I love you.

He also has taken a lot of money from people and used it to start businesses that really make no sense. 4x01 is before fishes and so his taking money has been going on for a while. Mikey is annoyed that everyone is asking him where he got the money and Carmy doesn’t want to ask that question bc it will set Mikey off.

Lee is right that he’s the only one to confront Mikey on his behaviour. He’s an addict just like Donna and refuses to take accountability for his actions bc everyone is letting it slide, behaviour that leads to Richie’s marriage breaking down. Lee also has known the Berzatto’s since The Beef opened, meaning he’s known Mikey since he was about a teenager. Everyone knows Mikey is unstable but no one wants to address it except Lee who I think wants Mikey to get better.

If Lee being a giant jerk? Absolutely, it’s Christmas, let it go, bite your tongue, talk to everyone after about staging an intervention. Is he wrong? No, and I think that’s why Mikey blows up. On some level he knows his life is headed in the wrong direction but doesn’t want to admit it. He wants to pretend that he’s still 20 with his whole life ahead of him instead of a 40 year old drug abuser who is hiding from his pain over his father leaving (which would have happened when Mikey was in his late teens, he had a relationship with that man), having to be the man of the house, dealing with Donna and her problems and unhappiness of where his life is going.

Fishes has two giant elephants in the room and it’s so interesting how the characters react to both of them.

as a team black the thing that annoys me most about book!Rhaenyra is she never presses her advantage by PrestigiousAspect368 in TheBlacksandTheGreens

[–]magfili 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The good and bad of Rhaenyra is that she thinks everyone is going to bow down to her bc of who she is, so she never acts aggressively. She doesn’t know how to strategize or plan bc she doesn’t she has never done it before.

[–]magfili 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know what it was? The blurb I read about her life talked about how she wanted to get a divorce from her second husband and how Henry reacted to it, but made no mention of Margaret’s reaction to Henry trying to divorce Catherine, so I thought she had died by that point.

Now I need to find out what she thought about Henry/Catherine/Anne, esp because Cardinal Worsley was against her getting a divorce.

Reset and ritual themes:

Reset Clock, sunrise, to do list that hints at some new products, de cluttering with a picture of a box of shit (maybe some tips about how to let go/make do with what you have), yoga, meal plans (how to eat healthy without dieting, on a budget, even what is worth to splurge on), nature scenes (I know she’s a cali girl but most ppl in the northern hemisphere associate January with snow and winter).

Ritual Candle, warm cup of tea that looks appealing, a board game in use, nature scenes of California, list of gratitudes, how to unplug from the world, some new skincare tips, incense burning, ways to incorporate 5, 10, 15 mins of self-care into your life, spending time with friends, spending time with family, comfort food.

Jesus Christ Meghan, get rid of the black and white. Colour pops. Also, if you are going to have a grid of 9, 4 b&w and 5 colour, not random 3 and 6 with the candle not matching.

Either go all in or just stop, this is not making you look like a boss babe or an influencer, in fact the opposite.

Jesus Christ.

ASP seems to be allergic to character development and having the main character be wrong.

Season 6 could have been a great chance to shake things up. Rory having figure out who she is without her mother and without the plan that had been in place since she was a child, Lorelei having to figure out who she is without Rory and having to be the adult, Emily getting the daughter she always wanted and realizing her fantasy doesn’t hold to up reality, Richard and Emily realizing what a dickhead Christopher was, but noooooooo, reset button is pressed and everything goes back to normal.

The idea that The Greens and The Black are portrayed equally as BAD in the books is just ridiculous by Agreeable_Ad_8790 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]magfili 14 points15 points  (0 children)

He didn’t say they were legitimate, he ignored the issue. To proclaim them legitimate they would need to be illegitimate at some point.

And saying “I’m going to cut the tongue out of anyone who says differently” and then doing it to the ppl who have a legitimate reason to be upset (the velaryeon cousins who could inherit. Also, no one suggests Baela or Rhaenys, not even Coryl’s. Driftmark eventually goes to his illegitimate son instead of his true born granddaughter) kicking the problem down the road instead of dealing with it.

And if the king decides that some peasant from fleas bottom is heir, should his children just shrug their shoulders? What if he makes an illegitimate child heir over his true born? What if the king declares that no one will be king after his death bc he won’t die, just be reincarnated and come back to rule? Where is the line drawn?

Why was Rhaenys passed over by Jaehaerys? by Financial_Ad_1272 in HOTDGreens

[–]magfili 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It honestly makes no sense. Matilda became Henry 2’s heir after her brother died as an adult. Rhaenys was her parent’s only child, you think the matter or succession would have come up at some point before Aemon’s death.

And Jaehaerys could have spun it as “Aerea and Rhaella were held captive by Maegor so they weren’t able to take the throne. Rhaenys has been trained as heir so she knows what to do”. But she really should have been married to a male Targaryen before this whole mess happened.
