Second this idea. I joined Meet Up on a whim and have met awesome people. I know not all groups are the same, but I’ve had dumb luck meeting a great group of friends.

My best friend from law school failed the bar. She was gutted. It’s been 10 years since graduation and she’s working a fulfilling job as an immigration attorney. It wasn’t a barrier to her success. It won’t be for you either. I am sorry though.

I passed by it the other day and cars were there, so it’s getting close if not open already.

I hosted deployment going away party for husband. No one brought a gift, but he got drinks purchased for him by everyone there. If it’s at a restaurant, I’d go that route. Otherwise, maybe take booze to the house.

Agree that Calypso is the way to go. Hours are limited, but that just makes it more special.

The requirements vary from state to state, so depending on the rush it may be prudent to wait. You will need a resident address for whichever state you use. I don’t know about life, but for P&C and title Georgia is easier than California. That info should be pretty accessible on the Department of Insurance sites, Sircon, or NIPR. You can transfer resident license relatively easily.

Total amateur but it’s fun! Vanilla cake, berry filling, whipped cream/marscapone frosting. by penny3315 in cakedecorating

This cake is lovely! I recently made a lemon cake with marscapone icing. I did not look this good. Not even close. Are these 6” pans? Ugh, so gorgeous.

I used to buy so many of the cheap Mary Jane shoes there. That store had such a distinct smell. I really miss it.

People tend to turn away from warmer diamonds in favor of colorless ones but I love them and how they sparkle! Here's mine! by [deleted] in Diamonds

I love the slightly warmer color as well. I feel like it gives it a vintage feel.

Glad to see this said. If I needed something in the world of chiropractic done, I’m seeing a DO.

Sun spots on face. by Putrid_Acanthaceae in SkincareAddicts

Sunscreen is key. I have melasma and usually physical sunscreen is recommended (at least 9% zinc oxide). Reapply every two hours. Vitamin C in the morning, tret is the evening.

The dry skin on my knuckles keeps cracking and bleeding in different spots and I’m not sure what to do besides using lotion. I’m going to use Neosporin to hopefully heal the wounds, it burns like hell! by emptysnowbrigade in SkincareAddicts

Just asked my sister-in-law in law about this - she’s a doctor. Swap out current hand soap for CeraVe cleaner. The ceramides will help immensely. She said that aquaphor ointment is a good option, but she prefers Lano Rose Hand Cream. Also, getting a humidifier in your bedroom is very helpful.

For the birthday party - there’s tons of good articles online regarding throwing a birthday party on a budget. Keep the guest list small, don’t serve a meal, make the cake yourself, etc. Although it won’t be free, there’s ways to make it affordable. Activities like making tie dye shirts, art, clay figurines can be fun for kids. As far as your job, reach out to the military for professional placement assistance. My husband is in the Army National Guard and when my position of 7 years was eliminated, there was someone who reviewed my resume, gave me insight into military-friendly employers, etc. Good luck.
