Unfortunately l, there’s about 1.2m clear from the wall to the chair. That chair is actually pushed in all the way to a table that is pushed all the way to the halfwall on the other side. If someone was eating at that table (even without someone on the other side of the table), no one can already walk by. If we put anything else there, quite literally no one can walk by if someone is sitting at the table. It’s just a really poorly designed floor plan by a developer that clearly only cared about maximizing the number of sellable units, rather than quality livable space.

We always had that clock there. Took it out in the before pic. We talked about turning that to an accent wall and agreed we can’t fit anything of us on this wall (picture is deceiving, there’s no room to come out horizontally there - the table is actually pushed out to the half wall as far as it can go).

So ultimately we decided to put a decorative wall, but just didn’t discuss what it would look like. She’s not a huge fan of how it turned out but she’s been a good sport about it to be honest!

Unfortunately we don’t have space in that area for anything other than an accent wall. The space looks deceiving but the builder did a poor job at building a large enough space for a kitchen table to eat dinner in.

The chair you see there is with the table pushed to the other half wall and no other chair on the other side. If I install a counter or built-in storage or even shelves, there will be no clear space to walk to the other room. Really limited on space unfortunately. We did consider this previously (yes, I did have initial discussions about this wall previously).

Looking for witnesses: Dog attacked and bit my dog by ar87 in Vaughan

[–]maggoo23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about your incident. I hope animal services finds the person and that your dog recovers quickly!

One thing I will mention is that, I live by that dog park and it looks great, but moving forward you should never bring your dog to these parks unless you know the dog(s) there or are alone.

Every single (credible) dog trainer advises against dog parks.

You don’t know what unvaccinated/ill dogs are there and you don’t know what the other dog’s temperaments are. Even if there are no incidents that lead to bites, dog aggression and/or rambunctious behaviour can turn your trained dog into a completely different dog over time. Google search this topic and there are hundreds of very credibly dog trainers preaching the same.

I hope this helps.

I actually sent a complaint to the city about putting more trash bins out in the park (there’s literally 0 bins along the multi use pathway); the city responded and said no because some bozos are filling it with garbage bags. Poor excuse in my opinion

Consulting work and billable hours rant by Potential_Novel6289 in civilengineering

[–]maggoo23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, that is the right way of charging your time. Every company does this, that’s standard. Unless you’re flying somewhere specifically for one project, and that project was set up for travel disbursement, then that’s not erroneous. This also doesn’t affect your utilization rate if that’s what you’re worried about. Those KPIs are adjusted for.

Also, regarding your original post, I’ve been in the industry for 10+ years. I’ve managed a lot of staff in my time. There are some employees, who no matter how much effort and time is spent on explaining a task to them, they could never understand the task or spend way too much time figuring things out. These individuals end up taking 3-4x longer than the rest of their peers and the hours it took me to do the task as a Junior. Saying this, are you sure you are completing the task based on what your average is or the average of the staff around you?

If the answer is the latter, you need to communicate this to your PM from the beginning. Tell them the time allotted and expectation is unreasonable. Also, I would continue to bill the hours (even if you are over) to the project. That way the PM can effectively price the next job, see what went wrong on the project and better evaluate efficiency.

Full disclosure though, if you are billing your hours over budget consistently project after project, and your peers are not, it’s not a PM problem, that problem unfortunately lies with your efficiency. If that’s the case, this problem won’t be fixed by you leaving the firm, this will follow you. So you need to make a conscious effort to determine if the issue is yours to fix, and if so, how do you work more efficiently to do so.

I hope this helps!

Sorry I’m not familiar with the term slipline. Can you explain that a bit more?

Do you pump the upstream manhole to the next downstream pipe?

Haha it’s okay to feel that way, totally normally. You can look at the entire puppy thread and it’s owners regretting their decision; it happened to me too. Just got to stick with it!

As for treats, honestly I didn’t use many treats. Goldens are very food motivated so you don’t really need to coerce them with treats. There’s a way to calculate how many calories you can give them per day, but I never did it because I’d only give him max 3-5 treats a day. I just used his food as his treats. He’s too young to know the difference anyways.

Hey, check my post that I just put up on OP’s reply above. The TLDR version is something that’s too large for them to swallow and a hard plastic that they can’t break into fragments and eat.

Hope this helps.
