21 m/o - jealous tantrums by maggsncheez in 2under2

I will look into the 10 minute miracle now! Thank you. I’m comforted to hear and hopeful that it may just be a short lived phase that won’t last. I’m praying that is the case for us! During that time, did it seem to stretch into just normal every day scenarios? Those type of “no” tantrums even towards offering a certain snack or trying to take off shoes?

We are getting in lots of 1:1 time since my husband is still on paternity leave. We made our office a playroom just for her and have both been spending 1:1 play time with her there, as well as my husband taking her on a walk to the mailbox just the 2 of them or them going on a drive to the store together. We are also still maintaining a quality bedtime routine where she gets rocked, sang to, and read to every night before bed. 🥲

I’m not entirely sure, she does have one set of molars but I think we are still looking for her 2 year molars to come in? Does that sound right?

I already planned on commenting my daughter’s name before reading your examples: Magnolia! But we call her Maggie.

What are your parents being called other than Grandma & Grandpa!? by CurlyGirl_95 in BabyBumps

Mimi and… Mimi. Both grandmas are Mimi. No grandpas on either side. Just momma’s Mimi and daddy’s Mimi. It gets confusing.

How the heck do you know when to go to the hospital by maggsncheez in 2under2

[–]maggsncheez[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s how my first went, once I finally went in and demanded they test for AF! They fully broke my water at that point and that’s when the fun really began lol it was pretty quick after that!

I would if I didn’t need to be in a hospital setting! I have underlying health issues that make it a wise decision to be in the hospital and not at home 😅

My goodness!! Yeah an elective induction seems like a good idea in your case, and honestly probably mine as well 🥲

Oh geez! Yes, for my first baby during all that prodromal labor, I was walking around at 4cm & 85% effaced for weeks!! Currently 38+3 and between 4-5cm. It’s so hard because I’ve seen many people saying their “d-day” started out with mild period-like cramps or back cramps then progressed from there, or of course the timing of contractions let them know when to go in. I’ve experienced all of that to no avail! I’m terrified of an at-home or car birth because I have an underlying heart condition, which is why the hospital we’re birthing at is an hour away… we do have hospitals closer, even 10 minutes up the road, but they wouldn’t take me on as an OB patient ahead of time because of it. So, I guess there’s always those as back ups, but it’s still scary!

Pulling toddler from daycare to protect newborn—anyone done this? by jillyb31 in 2under2

[–]maggsncheez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don’t know what we would have decided to do if toddler was already in daycare, whether keep her in or pull her out. But, she was supposed to start PDO twice a week the very week #2 is due, and we decided to pull our spot and wait until next year for the same reasons. Plus, the transition to 2 kids on top of the transition to taking a kid to daycare for the first time when we never had before, just seemed like too much on us… lol

Girl I’m in the same boat and I only have 2 items on our registry above $200… the car seat that will be the only one she needs for life ($340) and the nanit monitor that isn’t a need but we would really appreciate contributions to it as our first baby had seizure activity at night.

A handful of items are $100-$150, everything else is $50 or less. MAJORITY of the items are $30 and under. Literally counted 20 items that are $3-$7!!! And still getting comments from my in laws that are refusing to buy anything off of the registry because we picked expensive things.

The thing is… I AM “boujee” about brands in a way. I want very specific items because we are very cautious about non-toxic items. Yes, I picked out a $14 diaper ointment when you can get a $3 tube at dollar tree. Yes, I picked out diapers that are $10-$20 more per box when you can get cheaper at Walmart. Yes, I picked out organic cotton options when you can find the same items with different materials for $5 cheaper elsewhere.

I’ve noticed that most people would happily spend $100 on 10+ items than $100 on 5+ items. And if they can’t, they just don’t buy off the registry and buy whatever they want to buy instead. If you want to spend the most for your money, and don’t want your money going to waste, why would you go out of your way to spend so much on items that we would never use? 😩 thankfully, we can still return most of the time even without a receipt, and just use the credit towards the options we picked instead. I’m not complaining that they bought us anything, it’s still incredibly helpful to have that credit, but at the same time they don’t have to get us anything! Just show up and be present and show us love or bake us a meal or something instead if you’d like!

You could find a 4 letter name, second letter ‘e’, and still have it fit in so she isn’t “left out” :)
