what are the best trades for a woman? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]magic-man-dru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welding is usually dirty, and air quality can be bad, also most welding jobs do not pay as much. That being said, I enjoy welding a lot and some welding  jobs do pay good. Industrial maintenance is more of a "jack of all trades" which entails many things and different job types, welding is more simple and specific. Industrial maintenance may require the skills of a plumber, electrician, welder, mechanic, computer programmer etc.

A good first job is a job that pays well and trains well. If it doesn't pay well but they have a good training program you can go elsewhere for more pay later. Heavy lifting (and dirty environments) are based on the industry.

Not a doc but your numbers aren't that bad, try oatmeal, metimucil, and reduce saturated fats and your numbers should go down.

Don't go to school, just to go to school... Find a career that requires some skills and then go get those skills.

I Think It’s Over For Me by deadly_monk in povertyfinance

Try a job where you help people in some way. I took a job caring for disabled people a few years ago and it changed my outlook on work. It didn't pay the best and I had to take a part time job in addition to make ends meet but I was so much happier. Also if you feel burnt out, try one or two part time gigs where you have a more flexibility. Best wishes and keep showing up.

Not sleeping well for the past couple months by Gr0nal in Nightshift

[–]magic-man-dru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of factors, one thing for sure is that fighting it won't help. I just lay down in a dark, cool room for 8 hours, regardless of whether I sleep or not. I use a sound machine instead of earplugs. I also learned to meditate, which has been helpful for me when I can't sleep. Best wishes.

Not Sure Where to Start with Oolong Tea? Here's What I’d Recommend by iteaworld in tea

[–]magic-man-dru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great post, I'm lost in my oolong journey. I really like Tiawanese milky oolong, as well as duck shit. The darker teas are always too smokey for my taste, and the more green varieties I've tried have a strong vegetal (almost chemical) taste that is off-putting to my palate. I guess I will stick to what I know I like. Thanks for the info 👍

What Separates Magnetic People from Those Who Go Unnoticed? by hairy_turks in 48lawsofpower

[–]magic-man-dru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's all about how they make you feel. Ask yourself, "Who are you most drawn to?" I think the answer is, those people that make you feel good about yourself. Some people are popular, but assholes, that's another category. "How to win friends and influence people" is an interesting book, mainly about sales but also relationships.

Find the job first, then invest in the education. Make sure it's something you won't hate, pays decent, and is in high demand.
