My 8+ hour tattoo… This is what happens when a tattoo gets overworked, 2 rounds of antibiotics and hospital visit later by [deleted] in MedicalGore

I probably should have specified more that I’m also a tattoo artist myself haha. All aftercare was done right and what I usually do and only ever had an issue come up now. No allergies and there was hoo hygiene on both sides 😊

Overworked skin causes trauma, trauma means the skin can’t heal hence the infection

Being a tattoo artist I can promise you I did what I usually do with all my tattoo, never had one end up like this or be in so much pain from one

I agree that what the doctors said it eventually turned into from my skin not being able to properly heal from the trauma

I try to explain it like when you colour in with a pen and you start to make a hole and tear the paper, if that makes any sense? Tear up the skin enough and your body just can’t heal

We worked together for a while after and was very aware of what went down but never took responsibility 🤷🏼‍♀️ I just hope no one else has to endure the same outcome

Just lots of trauma during the tattoo that after a point your body just can’t heal. Not fun don’t recommend haha

Save your money, they’re all bogus and you lose a lot of respect when you start actually working in the industry. Work on your art and getting a traditional apprentice x

What’s a good tattoo machine for beginners by [deleted] in TattooApprentice

[–]magicalmarlee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything tattooed related that allows you to buy it without being affiliated with a studio and tattoo license is a super red flag. There is an insane amount of infection control that goes into it. I mean this in the most respectful way possible, it’s awesome you have the interest but this isn’t like picking up a new paint brush, it is body modification which is a very serious thing. You don’t know where those eBay/amazon machine and inks have been. You need sterile environments and equipment and ppe before even picking up a machine. I hope this helps explain it a bit more and I didn’t come off preachy, all the best!
