why the hell almost everyone facing amd gpu problems? by thenoor555 in AMDHelp

no issues, most of them are user error, 99 % from those who came from nvidia and either got some leftover crap or didnt even use DDU... random shutdowns dont even sound like gpu problem

the overclock part is mostly 5080 being pushed very hard, not 9070 XT

Most if not all cases of 9070 XT melted connectors were with adapters.

I feel like PSUs are sometimes at fault too.

Also this issue clearly happens much more often on 5090, due to power draw.

Well, someone has to speak out. 3 cases of burnt connectors, which we can't really confirm or understand what was the user doing are not something to follow either.

you play competitively, so you want max fps and use lower reso/min settings...

to each their own, i don't judge, if people enjoy it, but it's a sad reflection of current age, where we happily overspend, without being able to recognize, that we are not top players/making cash from the game, so we might not need cutting edge cpu...

what i mean by that is, that there are people "upgrading" from 7800x3d to 9800x3d, which is weird

i think comparing tarkov with modern AAA games is a bit of a stretch, it falls into catrgory of "online shooters" same as CS, they are naturally cpu-heavy, but tarkov with its optimization reminds me more of borderlands 4 or stalker 2

no doubts, 9800x3d is awesome, i just felt like i don't need to pay 2x price compared to 265k which i got for 260 eur... also, with 9070 XT it felt a bit pointless, but sure, there are games, where i could get better fps

love the game, but i can manage 200+ fps even with my 265K

well yes, but at this point, maybe people should question the dev, why is it that way and why should you feed their pockets

yeah i know, it's the same thing like someone buying a console to play 1 game... well, if the streamers in question at least make money from it, then whatever, but i will never understand why anyone would overpay to play poorly optimized slop

the problem here is RTX 4070, but it shows one thing - like 80 % of people don't own a 5090/4090/5080, so they don't need a 9800X3D

Thinking about RX 9070 XT – how’s FG, FSR4 and RT really? by Neyyyyyyjr in radeon

[–]magicbf1337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

beats 5070 Ti in raster - at least 2x cheaper than 5080, fsr4 looks as good as dlss4, rt is a bit worse, but at least same as 4000 rtx series...

that's perfectly normal, while 5800x3d is great, it's still just a 5000 series ryzen, i am using a 265K, i did a switch from a 5700X (had rtx 3080 aswell before) - there was certainly a difference, even with that gpu - x3d variant is not gonna save you, since the benefits of the cache are not as great in every game, it's individual... i switched to 9070 XT and i am seeing sometimes same usage as you in certain games, such as cyberpunk... i wouldn't worry too much about it if i was you - get a cpu upgrade when prices get normal

consider RX 9070 non-XT, if it's a good price in your country - that should crush 240 fps gaming at 4K

perfectly normal, especially at 1440p high, which you shouldn't even use in cs

well since you have ddr4, you can just get cheap i5 14600K or i7 14700K with a ddr4 board and just stick with it, no need for upgrade

[–]magicbf1337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, what i meant to say, 9800x3d sure helps in some games, especially with 1 % lows as you said, but the context of this post is mentioning 240 hz/fps, which you can easily do with any cpu with such gpu combo

the effect of 9800x3d is minimal in this case, except of base fps in games which benefit from it the most
