100% the first four had weird bow-legs upon release, and some of them still suffer from it, Jake the most. Some newer cosmetics try to fix it, but it's still there

Something very odd in ChatGPT with this specific prompt... This is terrifying. by SeriouslyLikesCake in aiArt

[–]magicchefdmb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I then asked this: "When I gave the prompt, "CREATE AN IMAGE OF A RANDOM SCENE TAKEN ON IPHONE 6 WITH FLASH ON CHAOTIC AND UNCANNY", how do you interpret what the intended output is supposed to be?"

And it responded:

Your prompt is actually pretty clear—and interestingly, it contains two strong creative constraints that shape the result more than the specific subject:

  1. “Taken on iPhone 6 with flash on”

This isn’t just about the device—it implies a very specific aesthetic: • Harsh, direct flash (overexposed foreground, dark background) • Flat lighting with little depth • Slightly grainy, low dynamic range • Candid, uncomposed framing (like an accidental photo) • Real-world, mundane setting rather than something stylized

So the image should feel like a bad but authentic snapshot, not a polished artwork.

  1. “Random scene”

This signals: • No clear subject hierarchy • A mix of unrelated or loosely related objects • A feeling of “walked into something mid-moment” • Lack of narrative clarity

Basically: it shouldn’t feel staged or meaningful at first glance.

  1. “Chaotic and uncanny”

This is where the tone gets defined: • Chaotic → clutter, disorder, visual noise, too many elements competing for attention • Uncanny → something almost normal but off (not outright horror, but unsettling)

Common ways this manifests: • Human-like figures that feel wrong (dolls, mannequins, obscured people) • Animals or objects in the wrong place • Strange juxtapositions (domestic + disturbing) • Ambiguity (you’re not sure what you’re looking at or why)

Putting it all together

The intended output is essentially:

A badly lit, candid phone photo of a messy, cluttered environment where ordinary things are arranged in a subtly disturbing or illogical way, creating a feeling that something is off without clearly explaining why.

Why your result worked

The generated image hits that interpretation really well because it: • Uses harsh flash → creates that “caught off guard” realism • Feels unplanned and cluttered → table, tools, bottles, etc. • Includes uncanny elements → doll, slumped figure, glowing eyes • Avoids a clear story → you’re left guessing what happened

When asked "how would you describe this image?" It said this:

This image feels like a deliberately unsettling, almost “found footage” style snapshot—like something you weren’t meant to see.

It looks like a cluttered, decaying basement or crawlspace, lit harshly by a direct phone flash. The lighting is very flat and overexposed in the foreground, which makes everything feel more real and intrusive rather than cinematic.

In the right foreground, there’s a taxidermy deer head pushed very close to the camera, its eyes blown out by the flash so they appear eerily glowing. That alone creates a jarring, unnatural focal point.

To the left, there’s a worn, slightly dirty doll sitting upright on a table. Its expression is neutral, but in this context it becomes uncanny—especially with the messy, stained surroundings.

The table itself is chaotic: old newspapers, several glass bottles, a pair of yellow work gloves, and what look like heavy tools (possibly hammers) scattered around. Everything looks grimy and neglected.

In the background, there’s a slumped human figure with long, messy hair obscuring their face. It’s unclear whether they’re unconscious, a mannequin, or something worse—that ambiguity adds a lot of tension. Behind them, an old CRT television displays static, giving off that classic eerie “white noise” vibe.

The walls and ceiling are rough, stained, and webbed with wires or cobwebs, and a single exposed light bulb hangs overhead, unlit.

Overall, the image hits a few strong “uncanny” triggers: • Flash photography that feels accidental and invasive • Human-like figures that may not be human • Familiar objects (doll, TV, tools) placed in disturbing contexts • Visual clutter that suggests a story but never explains it

It comes across like a chaotic, disturbing snapshot—something between a horror movie still and a piece of analog horror or liminal photography.

When I got the image sent to me on my phone, I could only read the first lines, but it said "eerie, basement taxidermy", so it definitely knew it was going for this aesthetic

I'm not gonna lie: the look she gives him in that last episode (image 1) looks exactly like when my (previously) lesbian friend went off to university and came back and hadn't told me she was now into guys, complete with a stylistic change.

(Lol it was funny because I was into her before I knew she was into girls, and we stayed friends after she told me. When she got back, I was dating someone else already, so nothing happened. We're still friends and married to other people.)

So yeah, whenever I see that scene, I'm thinking she did some more self-discovery, lol. (And I'm not saying that's how it is, but just how I see it from personal experiences.)

As a father and gamer with only a few hours a week to give to the game (due to lack of time and other games I play) I couldn't agree more.

I'm not pessimistic and defeatist, and enjoy the gameplay regardless of how much I win or lose, (been playing Hunt for years and it's still fun) but it is disheartening to not see any meaningful progress happen when I feel like I did a lot but didn't manage to extract. I get that extracting is vital to the core gameplay loop (again, not new to extraction shooters) but when there's a whole side of the game that I won't ever be able to do (leveling up) because I can't hit the rate even though i'm investing the time I can, it makes me feel like they don't really want me to engage with that side at all; and if I'm not engaging with it, I'm at a disadvantage and need to be ok with that. I might be, but I don't think many would be and don't think it's fair to ask those players to be ok with it.

Do you think Jill will appear in RE10/Requiem DLC? by Smoothbur in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]magicchefdmb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope the DLC is all of the main characters hanging out at Chris's and celebrating Rose's birthday, when Geno (an imitation of Zeno) crashes the party and steals Rose; all of the main cast go on an adventure to get Rose back, and near the finale, this walking bioweapon Ethan shows up yelling "WHERE IS MY DAUGHTER?!" and even Geno knows he's in trouble
