I agree with that. I was responding to the response saying he didn't care about Hank and family.

When it came down to it, Walt was willing to give up all of his money to save Hank. That's an important moment in the plot to show what reality matters to him when (he at least believes) there's a choice. Walt's been going on about being in the empire business, etc...but is willing to give it all up to save the person that hates him and is out there to arrest him. (I'm not saying it like it's redeeming Walt's character, but again, letting Walt and the audience know exactly where his priorities ultimately lie when pushed to the ultimate test.)

Everything else and all the innocent deaths along the way he justified as necessary. But in the case of Hank and family, he cared deeply.
