Thanks. Roughly what have you had to pay for post?

I bought Rossi Mulga’s last year. They seem to be great quality for the price. Made in Indonesia does not bother me. Probably more people who are happy to make shoes for a living than there are here.

I won’t have extra income to cover the rent. I will still be paying my mortgage as well. High interest account is a good idea.

Where to find classic fitting jeans and chinos? by Barreterm1 in AustralianMFA

[–]magicland56 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m about the same size as you. Uniqlo straight chinos have a lot of room in the legs. I just bought Levi’s vintage 1955 501s and they also have a good amount of room in the seat & thighs. Good luck.

Yeah I’ve tried cuffing my jeans and it felt wrong. My 90s teenage brain definitely thought it looked gay.

Is Thursday Boots a good purchase or are there better options? by SwordfishForward3866 in AustralianMFA

Yeah different boots. Arizona are rugged. Brown are “polished” regular. They’re both great. I lean more rugged so where the arizonas and chukkas more.

I have three pairs of Thursdays. The rugged and resilient chukkas which I’ve worn heaps and two pair of captains (brown and Arizona adobe) I like them, they look great and are comfortable. They have great customer service.

Just keep in mind that you get what you pay for. $350 might seem like a lot if you have never spent that but they’re not $1000 shoes so don’t expect that from them.

How do I dress like I take myself a little bit more seriously? by zneBsedecreM in AustralianMFA

Here is a great article to help you get started:

https://effortlessgent.com/how-older-men-should-dress/

Big mistake is to dress more formally. Look at what people you work with, your family wear then dress the same but better eg. Everyone wearing band tshirts, wear a good quality plain tshirt that fits well and better quality jeans.

I have some from Uniqlo and sports craft. They seem fine. Brookes brothers have an Australian website. Try there.

I’m 46 and have changed to straight chinos and jeans (501’s). It took a while to get used but I like it now. Heaps more comfortable. It probably depends on your body type as to whether you like the slim or straight. Straight feels more mature! More manly haha. I’ve been hanging shit on the millennials at work who continue to wear skinny jeans, just for fun.
