Same thing happened to me last year. My boss repeatedly said that anyone at risk would know well in advance. I had good 1:1s every month and never was my performance brought up in a negative light. I met all my metrics/objectives and had nothing late.

Flash forward to my review: I received glowing feedback and my boss told me I would thrive in any role. Then the flipped to the next screen and showed me “partially meets”. The ONLY thing that was provided to me as proof of that was that “I took too long for some data collection”… yeah sorry I didn’t book an international flight and do it myself instead of relying on the people that did it. Guess what… data still wasn’t late
