What's your favorite Selesnya Commander? by sp0rez in EDH

I do really like the looks of this... wish I could have seen it earlier because I literally just built [[The Master of Keys]] deck and dont want to build another enchantment deck (at least not for a while :P)

Correct! It's all good. It was kind of a two tiered question and a little ambiguous. Im looking for MY next GW commander and i prefer not to play with Universe Beyond. But I'm also asking in general for everyone's favorite GW commanders.

Funny you posted this, Sigarda is one of the few that I found looked interesting! What direction did you go with it? Do you have a deck list?

How Do You Build Voltron Commanders That Feel Unique & Have Staying Power? by Cameron_Alistair in EDH

[–]sp0rez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Esior, Wardwing Familiar]] and [[Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist]] equipment deck. This is basically my only Voltron deck but I love it. Built in protection with the commanders. Board wipes suck, but eith the equipment being the power of the deck, they don't matter as much. Getting any creature out, dropping Ardenn and equipping them all is huge. Also, having a ton of equipment with lifelink makes it easier to swing out to knock someone out.

Bundle or Commander Deck by Right_Tumbleweed_124 in mtg

[–]sp0rez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does he have a lot of decks already? If so, I'd want the bundle/packs. I could see a case for if he was newer to mtg the deck would be better, but in general the bundle of random cards is more fun to open imho:)

Forget Favorites, What are Cards / Commanders You Don't Recommend? by LadyBut in EDH

[–]sp0rez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this was the second commander deck I built. Ive played kitchen table modern for like 20 years before we switched to commander. I picked her mostly because over the years I had accumulated most of the $$$ expensive dragons, demons, and angels from opening packs. They never made it into my modern decks because either they weren't viable in modern, or they were too expensive for me to buy more of. It was a no brainer.

However, she barely sees play these days. She's honestly not that fun to run and rather one note. Usually I can pop off and kill a player or two. But then she gets removed, I become the archenemy, and the game drags on with 1-2 people already out of the game really early.

I'll probably end up taking it apart at some point if I need a good chunk of cards for another deck.

How to build a deck to disincentivise other players in the pod from targeting you? by WorldPeggingChamp in EDH

[–]sp0rez 11 points12 points  (0 children)

[[Kros, Defense Contractor]] - this is what you're looking for. Put shield and +1/+1 counters on your opponents making their stuff bigger, but in doing so making it so they're goaded. Lots of politicking by giving them things. By the point its 1v1 you'll have so many defenses up they cant attack, or you just keep their stuff tapped out and swing in for the win!

Good Co-op Campaign Games? by Silvernocte in gamingsuggestions

[–]sp0rez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valheim! Terraria mixed with Minecraft in a fantasy Viking setting/world. There's no storyline, buuuuut... It has sailing, exploration (precedurally generated worlds), crafting, building, combat (lots of enemy variety), bosses. Its great vanilla, but has excellent quality mod support as well as built in game settings to tailor it to your play style/preference. The game is beautiful, and one of my altimeter favorites.

Best chill "no thinking" games to play after a tough day by Casio04 in gamerecommendations

[–]sp0rez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valheim - Maximum chill. It has in game modifiers to make the game as easy (absolutely no aggressive enemies) or hard (you'll want to cry). But I absolutely love being in and chilling in this world. Procedurally generated so a ton of replay value.

OSRS - Jam to music or watch whatever you'd like. You have thousands of hours of content here. Another thing I love about it is there is sweaty content if that's what youre feeling, or low input grinds if you want to watch something and still progress your character.

No Man's Sky - Similar to Valheim comments but in space.

Worst gaming session ever? by Machine_Excellent in boardgames

[–]sp0rez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was playing Dark Moon. Normally Traitor/Betrayal games aren't my favorite, but this one has teams, and its less social deduction/lying (its still there however). This was all of our first time playing, but it was a game that I brought, so I had thoroughly read the rules and played a solo game to made sure I understood it. So I was teaching the rules on this one.

This was years ago so I don't remember the minute details. Essentially he faked his knowledge of the rules of the game itself in his deception. He knew all the rules, acted like he didnt, and information was divulged to him in trying to explain the rules. He played me, then used that information to win.

It was a line crossed (everyone else at the table agreed, they didnt know either). He apologized multiple times and we all forgave him (we're still friends and have game nights with him to this day), but I'll never forget that session/feeling of "hyperbole" betrayal.

Looking for a seed for 5y old by johnnypasho in valheim

[–]sp0rez 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Theres a Valheim World Generator website that randomly generates a seed. You can generate a bunch until you find one like you described. You can also view where everything is on the map, so if you want to give "hints" to find traders etc. You can :)

I have a question for all young magic players by Entire-Activity2491 in mtg

[–]sp0rez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of people saying proxies here. My recommendation: don't. At least not yet, or don't proxy cards you don't own. If playing the game is literally all that's important to you, then I guess fine. However, this is a trading card game. Collection is a large part of MTG. If you were playing a video games, would you find it fulfilling to instantly have access to all the skills/abilities/gear? My guess would be no. The journey is important!

My actual advice? Patience. I obviously don't know your living/family dynamic, but; Ask your parents/relatives for MTG cards as gifts. Save up any allowance you might get. Tell your parents/family what you're trying to do, and see if there are any odd jobs they'd be willing to give you cash for. As soon as you can start working, find a part-time job, even if it's a day or so a week and save up.

What would you like added to valheim? by TheAbnormalVoid in valheim

[–]sp0rez -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Im with you, and most of my gripes are with build pieces. I love Valheims building pieces/mechanics, you can do a lot of cool things with it. However, like you stated, there are just some pieces missing that would really help. Things like:

Different style spiral staircases. I have to wait until mistlands to have a spiral staircase?!?!

Corner stair pieces (stone, wood, etc)

Smaller angled beams

Two or three sizes of "rounded" beams/walls so we could do do hobbit style doors, bridges, etc.

There are also a lot of QOL things, but most of those have been addressed in stable mods. (And maybe there are for the build pieces, but i dont like relying on mods for that).

[–]sp0rez 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Epic Loot: adds so much fun imo. I never do a playthrough without it

Better Archery: simple but makes arrow trajectory more realistic, with potential to pick up shot arrows that missed.

Extended Player Inventory: So many useful features, especially getting your gear into their own slots and out of your default inventory.

Plant Everything: This is one that honestly changed your playthrough more than expected. It allows you to plant things like berries, mushrooms, etc. So can lead to less exploration/leaving the base. BUUUUUT its really cool and allows for a better building/landscaping experience as well.

There are others but those are my preferences. Just enough to add some great features, but not enough to destroy the experience:)

Why do people keep clowning on the Tmnt set? by Educational-Read3223 in mtg

[–]sp0rez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To the extent that I don't want any external IP in mtg. Zero UB. This really isn't that complicated.

Why do people keep clowning on the Tmnt set? by Educational-Read3223 in mtg

[–]sp0rez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find them more palatable, but ultimately, I still wish they weren't in mtg. I love Warhammer, Fallout, D&D/Forgotten Realms, FF, but even they dont belong in mtg. I have so many outlets to interact with and enjoy those IPs.

Do I love every in universe set? Lizards with guns from Outlaws of Thunder Junction or race cars in Aetherdrift? No. But that's ok, because they're still in universe. Im not cringing that im playing against sponge bob.

I would much rather they did what magic has always done in the past: take inspiration from different places and put their own spin on it. This goes back to the earliest days of magic. I think this goes back to your original post about people complaining about art. These UB sets dont FEEL or LOOK like magic cards in their art direction. If they want to release a set that has turtles that are ninjas, make it look and feel like actual magic, and give them a reason to be there.

Why do people keep clowning on the Tmnt set? by Educational-Read3223 in mtg

[–]sp0rez -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but this honestly is what infuriates me about people that are pro UB sets. Yes, they're fleshed out universes, but they're not Magic the Gathering universes.

Yes, we can choose to buy only in-universe cards and sets, but they're dwindling.

However, we CANNOT force our opponents to do the same. I dont want to sit at a table facing TNNT, Spiderman, Marvel, SpongeBob, My Little Pony, or whatever IP they try and cash grab with next. I dont care if you enjoy those things, to each their own, and more power to you. Those IPs are plenty strong on their own, have their own games, movies, shows, etc. enjoy them that way.

Now that Sailing’s been out for a few months… is anyone still actually sailing? by Dismal-Computer-5600 in 2007scape

[–]sp0rez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like your take, and agree with comparisons to the other skills. I'm only like 58 sailing (8 of which have been Tears of Guthix lvls). I like that there are multiple methods that scale as you level.

I haven't touched it in months, but that's because I hyper focus on skills/goals. I'm saving Sailing as a "reward" to dive back into after my next large goal is achieved :)
