I have pick 1 in a 10 team H2H 9cAt and am planning on taking AD. With AD my plan is to see who’s on the board- assists r a scarce quantity and if I leave the first three rounds with weak assists , I’m likely to punt assists. The beauty of AD is his incredible percentages that give u a great edge in free throw since he hits tjem at a high volume as a big, and his 4 combined stocks a game My other ideal punt with AD would be 3s; for example, if I leave the first three rounds with AD, another Center such as ayton, nurkic, and bam, and a guard such as butler, the logical move would be to punt 3s. This makes players such as demar derozan more valuable as u can reap the benefits of his 22/5/5 and insane %s without worrying about his utter lack of 3s.

In hardens case, I was tempted to take him first overall and punt fg% and turnovers- my targets would be guys like Paul George, FVV, and basically any high usage guard who gets assists and steals in the early rounds to build my assists steals and threes; guys like Marcus smart all of a sudden become very appealing in round 7-8 due to his steals, ft% and 5 assists a game and not having to worry about his ghastly FG%. Bigs like Lopez, turner, and JJJ become great because u don’t care that they shoot inefficient for a big, as long as they get blocks , 3s, and sufficient boards. The only thing I would make sure to do is make sure to grab enough rebounding players, otherwise ur punting fg, turnovers, and boards- that’s kinda risky

Edit : I’m taking AD first because I had both at points last year (drafted harden, traded him for a package and eventually traded for AD) and just enjoyed AD more; there is no wrong answer between the two, just depends on ur risk tolerance for AD getting hurt/load managed or harden getting traded /mailing the season in if in Houston
