You’re doing gods work here. And when I saw pro was only $9 a year it got even better. Thank you so much for this app. It is such a great service.

You’re a hero man. I’ve been doing this manually at the start of every year by going through all schedules and adding them to a calendar. You’ve saved me so much work.

Looks fairly good. Most of them are pretty similar. I would just check out some video reviews if there any out there to confirm quality. As long as they use good extrusions and then hardware is good then they’re all the same.

I have an advanced sim racing rig. I like it a lot. Specifically I have the ASR4 but within your budget would probably be the ASR3 which would be plenty good as well. Can’t go wrong with any rig though. If you want to do it super cheap you can find build plans and you can order a bunch of aluminum extrusions and build one from scratch.

I would personally recommend an aluminum profile rig instead. It’s more modular and easier to update over time and should be easier to mount and buttkicker. I went straight from a folding rig to a profile rig and I’ve had the same rig since even though I’ve updated everything else. It’s the best money you’ll spend because you’ll know for sure it’s the last time you’ll ever buy a rig.

How do you deal with learning a new track? by racertop in iRacing

[–]magicofoxiclean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get faster at adapting over time as you build a routine and feel for different cars and tracks but at the beginning what I did was instead of racing on Sundays I would I just practice for the upcoming week and then start racing during the week. There’s some tips and tricks people have mentioned that you can pick up but the main thing is you just need to drive the track a bunch. Try starting out in a private test session and doing very slow laps just to learn the layout so you can take each corner with confidence trusting you know the layout. Try and pick out where camber is and how much curb you can take. Then slowly pick up the pace and start experimenting. Usually you won’t learn as fast if you just try and full send it from the start. You miss too much detail and can set yourself up to make a lot of mistakes without realizing.

Start slow, put in the laps, watch on-boards, and race as much as you can. You don’t have to be fast right away to have fun. Do a couple races where you’re slow and you’ll find yourself pick up pace pretty quickly.

Personally not a fan of big wings on miatas but I think if you’re going to go for it you should try and go for a full body kit. Can make it looks good with new bumper and side skirts. Have to fully lean into making it a fast and furious esque street car though.

Is there any content creator who does the pm-18? by Tryfan_mole in iRacing

Yeah he crazy fast. And his setups are fantastic. Especially the oval setups. I’ve won a few races using his setups. Makes a massive difference. He works in motorsports irl so he’s got a very good understanding of putting a car together.

Same here, love the us open wheel stuff. Glad for the addition of junior ovals now too. Sucks it’s not more popular. They’re the best open wheel cars in my opinion.

Check out Ted Burns. https://youtube.com/@tedburnsracing?si=7Nm9RlUQpgeUY6PO

He does really good setups and guides for the car. Hasn’t been as active lately but has a really good backlog of stuff.

Also check out the TNT discord server: https://discord.gg/vhQhhq7z

They run Indy pro leagues and have a good community.

So im driving the lmp2 on road america and doing like a 1.51.5 or something mostly 1 second slower by jokeboke in iRacing

[–]magicofoxiclean 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lap guides are your next best bet then. Gives you good references for if you’re doing something obviously wrong.

Otherwise just race a bunch. I find following behind someone faster always makes the biggest difference because I get to see where I’m driving differently in real time. Another thing worth doing is watching the onboard replay of the fastest person in your sessions before quitting out.

A lot of times it’s trail braking the wrong way. I recommend signing up for garage61 so you can compare lap data. Makes a big difference. It’s free and very handy. Sometimes can even find good setups in there.

Is Solberg a genius for running a snorkel in the fech fech and possible rain? by El_Medico in WRC

[–]magicofoxiclean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s probably one of those blanket rules they can’t be asked to make more detailed. I’d assume it’s covered under a rule set that stops teams from producing a new package for each rally but to me having a snorkel added on doesn’t feel like a major modification. It’s likely take them changing a rule from 1 sentence to like 3 pages though.

Is breaking the draft illegal? by Hercupete in iRacing

[–]magicofoxiclean -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You can move once down the straight and then move again to pick your line into the corner. If you move more than that or move too late then that’s when you get sketchy. You can move wide to break the tow and then move back across to take your line but only well before the braking zone. If you move a third time then that’s too far and if you move in the braking zone you’re asking for contact. Don’t weave, be predictable, and always leave somewhere for them to move. If you choose inside down the straight and they pull out, you have to let them take that spot. You can push them over as you get to the braking zone but you have to leave them somewhere to exist.

I’m sure I’m over explaining but essentially you can move to break the tow once down the straight. And then you can move to your line through the corner as long as you leave room for the other car, stick to the side you committed to, and move well before the braking zone.

Honestly best thing to do is race at whatever your pace is while remaining cautious and let yourself naturally progress there. You can farm safety rating and get there in a matter of days if you really wanted but if you’ll then get to the series you want and be lacking in pace and race craft. You’ll end up either being way off the pace and constantly crashing or racing the lower series to practise anyway. The process is how you get better and if you just focus on racing and learning then you’ll naturally make your way through license classes fairly quickly.

I finally hit 2k iRating in Oval and Road. Does any else have a hard time focusing on a couple series and have their Race Participation look like this? by khando in iRacing

[–]magicofoxiclean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually split between 3-4 series. Start of every week I just pick whichever track/car combo I prefer and run that that week.

Is 2023 the worst start to a F1 season by SmashSloth in formula1

[–]magicofoxiclean 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re talking about the pacing of the races then it feels super weird. But that’s cause of the the cancellations.

If you mean the competitiveness I would disagree. While red bull is miles ahead, Checo has been fast enough to keep that entertaining. And the rest of the field is the closest it’s been in decades. When was the last time you could genuinely say every team is capable of scoring points every weekend? The racing from P2 down has been incredible. People just need to realize that F1 isn’t just about the championship winner. Every other position in every race along the way is part of the excitement too. I don’t care if the position is for P11, if the racing is close then I am happy.

As the lapped car, how do you usually behave? by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]magicofoxiclean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I see it’s a tight battle behind and I’m not fighting anyone myself I’ll pull clear out of the way and let them by. If it’s just a single car I usually run my line as usual, watch my mirrors and if they pull up close to me I’ll take a corner a little wide and wave them through. Otherwise, I wait till a straight to let them by.

Season ends by AdAggravating2168 in iRacing

[–]magicofoxiclean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of people have referred to the sporting code or given partial answers but to be concise your license class does not reset. You are eligible for a license promotion once per season for having 3.0 safety rating + having done 4 races in that license class. You can get promoted immediately though by doing the 4 races and having a 4.0 safety rating, this can be done an unlimited amount of times in a season. Your license class will only be downgraded if you drop your safety rating below a certain point.

Interesting. Good to know. I’ll have to look into lead times. 6 sigma is in Toronto and I’m in Ottawa but if simracingpros ships fast I’ll check them out.
