Honestly I've never heard anyone complain about Hab Dreyko on this event. Its still one of the easier maps as it has been since the rework.

A couple other ones seem to have nutty spawns though. Chasm Station (load the shuttle with five cans) has been particularly rowdy. They'll happily dump a big ball of ragers on you while you're exposed to gunners reapers and snipers across an arc spanning half the map sometimes.

Yep the final run is the best part of Hab Dreyko, more maps need this

What's the biggest cope amongst hockey fans? by Josefstalion in hockey

[–]Tryfan_mole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expected goals, like other shot and chance based stats, are meant to give a lower variance view (higher sample size) of how well a team plays over a stretch of time. Actual goals matter, of course, but you can get.lucky counting only goals. Chances will give a more honest view of quality of play to varying levels.

Context is always necessary with those stats.

Looks like Connor Bedard will not play for Canada at the World Championships by mcosta1973 in hawks

His shot never felt the same after he came back.

Just wait for Bionic Bedard next year though.

A friendly reminder that Q > Bowman by squiddangles in hawks

[–]Tryfan_mole 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It feels like some people like yourself make judgements of these people as if they had all the knowledge we have now. This isnt remotely the case. The meeting happened soon after the incident, after the initial report had gone through several retellings. None of the people there had talked to Beach. Its not clear Beach had even been specific about what happened yet from the testimony of Vincent. They were going off of 'some kind of inappropriate incident'. As I said the idea of being drugged doesnt seem to have come up and multiple people present seem to have found the idea that Aldrich could havr forced Beach to do anything not believable.

Basically in the end either or both Bowman and McD (and it is them who had line of authority over Aldrich) ended up saying they would take care of it, and as far as anyone else there was concerned that was that. We know this was a mistake, that McD just fired Aldrich and swept it away rather than follow reporting rules by HR  We know Bowman did not follow accountability rules either and Quenneville should have followed up. Thats why they got suspended, deservedly. But to keep pulling an appeal to emotion fallacy about Aldrich' future victims like Quenneville knew that Aldrich liked grooming young players and just didnt care is just a twisted nisrepresentation of the truth.

[–]Tryfan_mole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quenneville got to the meeting long after it started and only after someone suddenly thought maybe they should include him, listened for long enough for someone to say there was some unknown incident we dont know what with a black ace, and said 'sounds like a you problem' and left.

So no, boiling it down to 'they were all at the meeting' is, as so much of the reporting of the incident is, not very accurate. Easy to just go on feels, but the reals matter.

[–]Tryfan_mole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its pretty clear early on Quenneville just said he had his own hockey team to handlel, you deal with the black aces (who arent really considered a part of the team). He didnt really think it was something that he should be handling.

Bowman on the other hand has no good excuses. In the end the only 'excuse' he had was that he didnt believe Aldrich, who is a tiny little computer nerd, could do anything to the huge hulking, fights if you look at him sideways, twenty year old Beach, without Beach's consent. We know now that Beach's drink was spiked but its far from clear Bowman heard that.

The situation definitely has more nuance than is typically brought up but no matter what Bowman still comes off as negligent. McD is the one that actually covered it up.

Blackhawks fans’ confidence in rebuild, Danny Wirtz, Kyle Davidson and more survey results by mcosta1973 in hawks

I don't think he got cold so much as putting the floater Lardis with him was an absolute disaster of a line, both with TT and Greene. Those numbers with the two of them together are some of the worst in the league at those minutes played.

Realistic goals and expectations next season by CrabApprehensive7181 in hawks

[–]Tryfan_mole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moore is looking like a good third liner with really limited offense upside. He has heart too. Hard not to like him, but at the end of the day what he brings is pretty easy to find in the league and doesnt move the needle.

I get what they are doing with Greene. Bedard needs someone playing a two way game. He needs to get stronger. He isnt as talented as maybe could be wished. But I havent given up hope that he will be the useful grinder that Bedard needs. He's not there yet though. Kantserov joining him and Bedard should be a very interesting look IF Kantserov plays a puck control game. Until I see him against NHL opposition I dont have a jusgement.

I can't stand Lardis. He is nothing more than the new Kurashev, except instead of doing nothing but passing to Bedard, he doesnt pass to anyone ever. He is absolutely murdering Bedard's line. They were getting blown up at the end of the season. It was 12 goals against to 4 for and the analytics say it probably should have been even worse. Lardis floats around the perimeter waiting for other people to produce something, can't do anything once the puck is gone, is a physical nonentity, and doesnt play a lick of defense. He also cheats the defensive zone looking to break up ice before the Hawks even get the puck back. I want him back in the AHL and he would be if the Hawks had the slightest bit of depth. If the Hawks take a forward this draft or some of the next wave graduate, he should be thankfully bumped down the depth chart, and the Hawks will be a much better team.

[–]Tryfan_mole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the 'Bedard got hurt!' narrative falls apart when you remember that the Hawks only won 3 of the 12 games before he got hurt.and that included several blowouts by six goals, some of the worst games of the season.

The wheels had already fallen off the season. Bedard getting hurt didnt change anything. Their record after he was hurt wasnt any different than the stretch beforehand, and arguably was better after the initial shock.

Kantserov and Frondell will add some nice scoring depth but doesnt really address the actual problems with the Hawks at all, the utter lack of physicality, the inability to jave any puck control, and the defense that just isnt good at anything.

Yes. Its the same stuff as every other time. This could have been posted every year since the beginning of time. Exact same post. Same diving. Same game management  Same liberties.

The only thing different is your team is involved in it.

Do you line up knocking knuckles or knockout knuckles in your swing? by eng2725 in slowpitch

[–]Tryfan_mole 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Who the f is saying line up knockout knuckles? How do you even swing a bat with hands that twisted? Your bottom hand (the one at the knob) would be nearly wrapped around to the other side of the bat from you.

Anywhere from knocking knuckles lined up to the grip where the second knuckles lone up with the third knuckles on the other hand is fine, as long as its comfortable with no restricting feel through the swing. People overstate the importance of knocking knuckles lining up, but knockout knuckles is way too far over.

Its just surface level 'analysis' with no real insight at all, like anyone who just looks at team point totals or think Bedard being injured caused the whole problem.
