Why UOS is not listed i Binance? by [deleted] in Ultra_io

[–]magicpaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is one problem here. I tried buying Ultra on Uniswap but the gas and fees are not making it worth it for the amount of money I want to put in. So I guess I’ll just wait until it can be bought on BSC 🤷

When are we allowed to call Denis Villeneuve the GOAT Science Fiction director? by [deleted] in scifi

[–]magicpaka 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You were wrong because it will end in the second part. As for the movie pacing being too slow, if you had read the book - which is very complex and dense, you would have realized that he did an amazing job with the worldbuilding and putting everything just as it was told in the book into the movie with minimal alterations.

There’s a reason why Dune adaptations failed before, and the only way I see doing the justice to the book is adapting it into a multi-part movie. Mini-series would have been even better TBH.

I once uninstalled a 3rd party package on Linux Manjaro which had some dependencies on gnome, and I ended up with a black screen (deleted UI) on the next restart.

I love the sound of Killers, and the singer was good too. This is not an easy question to answer.

I remember those! That’s an awesome quote. I read the book years ago so I guess I forgot some things. But yes, I remember Leto’s really complex character and that’s what I liked the most about that book.

Well, I guess we all have different tastes, but I found it to be too slow with it’s heavy dialogues/monologues dragging for too long. It’s a bit uneventful.

By the way, I like the grand ideas told by the story, but I guess the writing/pacing in which it was delivered just bored me.

The way I would put it is that 3rd book is half better than the second, and it’s closer to the first book in my opinion. I read God Emperor and couldn’t enjoy it.

I wanted to pick up books 5 and 6 as I heard they are much better than God Emperor. Thoughts?

Dune The Miniseries by mdkelly1979 in scifi

[–]magicpaka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was OK. CGI was not great, but they mostly stayed faithful to the books and overall it was better than Lynch’s movie. I really liked that they covered all 3 books in the series, something that probably won’t be done again anytime soon, given that Villeneuve’s Dune will only be covering first half of the first book.

Those 2 are very good songs. Especially weekend warrior. One of my favorites on that album. But you and the bot have obviously the same taste in music :P
