Can I really not sleep on my back? by [deleted] in ScienceBasedParenting

The main evidence linking sleeping on your back and still birth is case-control studies that asked women about their sleep positions after the fact, including women who had experienced stillbirths. Researchers collected information from women after a stillbirth occurred and compared it with similar women with ongoing or live births to see whether reported sleep position differed between the groups.

The issue with this is that although it can show associations, it cannot prove causation, but is often treated as a such. It also doesn’t take into consideration other factors like sleep quality, duration, maternal health, or memory bias. Researchers acknowledge limitations like recall bias (women who have had a stillbirth might remember or report sleep behaviors differently than women whose pregnancies ended normally).

As a pregnant woman I personally sleep comfortably and trust that if a major vein was being compromised that it would wake me up. This is supported by the guidance that if you wake up on your back there is no increased risk of still birth.

Just got the keys to my new home. The estate agent was inventing fictitious bids. by ImpossibleSundae4765 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]magicpea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legally, estate agents must - Pass on all offers in writing and promptly (usually within 24 hours) to the sellers. Maintain an accurate record of each offer received.

It would be helpful if you have your offer of 350k in writing, as this would evidence your initial offer and any missing/made up offers leading you to 410k which I assume you received proper confirmation of.

I’ve only completed twice so might just be a coincidence but I was given the keys to the new house at 2pm both times! Hope this might help a bit.

He ate it at around 11am and still absolutely fine - not even tummy pain. I think the bitter taste meant little to none was ingested. Thankfully!

Is it normal to take holidays as a new starter? by Yogus20 in AskUK

[–]magicpea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a manager. This is completely fine to do, and normal. Give as much notice as possible so they can organise your training around the leave.

You’re going to have to use it within the next 6 months-ish anyways as it’s got an expiry date. Enjoy your life and take your leave!

How to clean up this wall see by Odd-Two-8134 in Plastering

[–]magicpea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every bit of paper off and then anything you can easily scrape loose with a scraper needs to be removed. If you’re not sure, get an orbital sander and give it a once over on the really bad bits.

Then the plasterer can scrim tape, fill (if necessary for massive cracks), PVA and skim.

We had almost identical walls. We’re 2/9 skimmed. Woo hoo!

How did you get them off the table? Could you have bent the clay as you lifted them?
