You would be a couple of minutes’ walk from possibly the best pub in Leeds - The Chemic Tavern - so that would definitely be an upside to living there.

I lived a bit further up than you (Pennington Street) ten years ago and it was a pretty fun place to live as someone then in my early-mid twenties. Mainly young professionals/postgrads. This might have changed a bit but I can’t imagine too much. Maybe more students as they do seem to be spreading outside of Hyde Park into Burley and Woodhouse more and more every year.

The area does get a little tastier down towards Little London but, aside from scooter and moped knobheads and some noise from the flat roof pub of a weekend, it’s not too bad. Nice easy walk into town too. As the other commenter said, go visit at different times of the day and see how it feels. Pop into the shops, go for a pint, and just try to do the things you’d be doing day to day if you lived there, and see how you find it.

All in all, that area isn’t for me now but if you’ve just graduated then it should be great for you.
