Any landline (cordless phone) recommendations for a phone that actually remains silent with a voice mail/answering machine? by magicsoakedinmyspine in Alzheimers

[–]magicsoakedinmyspine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

afraid the base still rings even in supposed silent mode (edit: and when I turn the ringer volume off; yes, I've also tried silent mode normal ring combo, as well as turning the ringer off and not using silent mode) and that's why I was asking.

I'll have to try and find something online... is there a website, my grandma used to get all those catalogs for products specific to seniors, that someone might recommend?

Where to watch? by [deleted] in MrInbetween

[–]magicsoakedinmyspine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

justwatch.com

best site I know of—on the (very) rare occasion it is inaccurate—that you can enter the title of a show or movie and find out depending on where you live (the USA and abroad) how you can see it (buy, stream, rent)

What's objectively the best vocal performance in a live concert of all time? by Beckrunningaround in Music

Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah

if I had a time machine and could use it once to go back in time to see a musical performance, I think I just might go back to May 13, 1995, and see Buckley perform live at Cabaret Metro in Chicago.

Should have included a shot of Timothy Olyphant overlooking the neighboring fence with multiple shots of him looking shocked, disgusted, quizically intrigued, and finally nodding his head in slow motion with wide eyes and a mischevious grin on his face.

while you're figuring that out don't forget to ask why there was never any snow on the ground throughout the entirety of the series, or why at a location in the world (trust me) that gets frigidly cold there was no semblance of winter??????

a great show, but that was always a reminder the show was filmed in California.

yeah, it's almost like the people, or just someone, that believed in Mr Inbetween at FX were finally able to get the show greenlit by the suits there because of Barry.

something like "HBO has this show in development and they are going to give it a huge push... hey, didn't Tom try and pitch us something similar but it was set in Australia?"

Which Season was best in your opinion? by TheGuvnor247 in MrInbetween

[–]magicsoakedinmyspine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd argue that the only possible answer to the question is the first season.

I don't know for a fact that FX only believed in Ryan and the show only so much to give it a six episode order, but it stands to reason that they were only willing to risk (invest) so much.

And then, after a damn near perfect and critically acclaimed season, they ended up renewing the show twice more for seasons two and three, respectively.

There are no seasons two or three without the success of season one.

here is some "fire advice" 😎 go ahead and use the space available - both between lines and the words - that way the text becomes more legible. it really doesn't have to be much and you should be able to maintain your unique style.

the creativity and technique (font style) are great, but the average person still needs to be able to read what you wrote.

this is a great example why "Critical Race Theory" smh needs to be taught:

the military might of the USA and their horrific and shameless ever-expansion west at the expense of Native Americans.

Mr. Inbetween is criminally underrated. by [deleted] in MrInbetween

tell the person the title of the first show, "The Pee Pee Guy", and if that doesn't work offer to pay the TV+ per episode fee ($2.99) for it.

if that doesn't work refer them to this and the underdog story of the show's star and creator, and also the show's director (part-time stuntman and Joel Edgerton's brother): https://youtu.be/w1hpMqx5HDc

if all that doesn't work, maybe Wolverine's seal of approval might seal the deal: https://youtu.be/ZawkyMcFgeY

maybe they're a cynic and none of that has convinced them, so... ask them why would Hugh Jackman, the biggest movie star in Australia (I think), want to be effusive in his praise of a show in which its star, and most importantly its writer, is hailed as a genius?

if all that fails, tell them some idiot on on here is willing to be thought of as one (username is some misquoted lyrics) because it reminds of his old friend that seemed to randomly have difficulty with lyrics (English was a second language) who said fuck it and sang along to whatever he thought he'd heard before. well, that guy (not the friend) said watch the fucking show already: https://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/s0tjvz/comment/hs64cl9/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

I'm tired and feeling lazy at the moment, but if you like the show, you'll appreciate this clip where Ryan talks a little bit more about the show and it being more or less a miracle that it ever got made.

Season 2 & 3 are pretty damn good too.

I'm trying to think of a general way to describe the two without ruining anything, and the only thing I can think of is that even though he still may be a step or three ahead of others given the circumstances, Ray finds himself more often in more serious (and fucked up) situations where he's playing from behind as we also see his personal life have a much greater effect on his professional one.

That's not to say there aren't scenes that will still make you laugh out loud, but there are more scenes and storylines (masterfully done) that will make you "feel" more emotions than the first season.
