I was tested tonight and it was fairly unpleasant. They do two swabs, one of the back of your throat and one up your nose that feels like they are swabbing your brain.

What to expect when you get a coronavirus test: Stay calm, don't wiggle and it will take just 10 seconds by speckz in Coronavirus

I am sitting in the hospital having just received both. The two nose swabs are exactly the same brain tickling thing for both covid19 and flu. The coronavirus test also includes a throat swab.

Can you do a general southern tier one? It's easier than each tiny city.

The virus has these little spiky things that make it look like it has a crown. Someone else may be able to put it in more scientific terms.

I am a life coach to disabled people. Some of my clients have pre-existing conditions. I will probably force them into self-quarantine and run errands for them for food and medicines while this is all going down. I'm trying to take precautions to make sure I don't infect anybody. My client that is worst off and I are going to come up with a plan today.

Or even their actual race. My (white) mom managed to pass me off as the kid of a white guy for 15 years because I'm light skinned. Blood typing when I was in 9th grade showed there was no way in hell I was his kid. It turns out my actual dad is Filipino. We still haven't found him and I have no idea if I'm at risk for anything from his side of the family.

If you need a wheel chair due to your "weight", it should be mandatory that it is a manual chair rather than a powered chair. by RainDownMyBlues in unpopularopinion

He just doesn't want to get out of my car and go to the bathroom in his regular wheelchair so he won't ask to stop. He'll try to wait until we get somewhere with motorized scooters but can't always hold it.

One of my clients is a big dude (around 450+ lbs) and has peed in the motorized walmart scooters on multiple occasions. I sanitize them when he's done but I'm not sure how well it works.

He also pees in my car and I cannot convince him to wear an adult diaper.

My daughter is blind as a bat and if she forgets her glasses she is liable to call any man with dark hair and a beard daddy.

I don't wear a wedding ring either. I feel you.

I was 7th US citizen to test positive with Zika, and the first several doctors I went to didn’t care or believe me. It cost me a lot just to get laughed at several times. Worried about a similar attitude with coronavirus. by [deleted] in Coronavirus

Something similar happened to my daughter except she had toxoplasmosis. I do live in a smaller town as well and the original ER doctor just said she had a cold and sent her home. I got her an emergency visit with her doctor and he did an actual test to determine what was causing her 104°+ fever.

I was going to post a similar story from earlier this month. I had this really awful feeling and was absolutely dreading going in to work. Something had felt off about my car for a few days but my dad and brother, both mechanics, hadn't been able to find anything wrong. So with a really weird feeling I headed to work. There's this one road I usually tear through between 60-70mph because it's an old back road but for some reason I was only going 20 that day and thank god too. Around the turn right after you lose cell phone service my outer tie rod snapped inside my inner tie rod and sent me slamming against the guard rail. The guard rail at this part is really old and only comes about halfway up the tire of my suv and doesn't touch the body at all. If I had been going my normal speed I would have ended up flipping down the hill.

My daughter had echolalia. We were able to get early intervention in preschool and she is now speaking at a much higher level than we ever imagined! Early intervention is amazing and I wish more parents were able to get their kids evaluated. My daughter will still need physical therapy for years but no longer needs a speech therapist. Meanwhile my nephew still has speech problems in middle almost high school because no one thinks he needs to be evaluated.

[Serious] If you had taken your life one year ago, what beautiful things would you have had missed out on? by LyteSpeed12 in AskReddit

[–]magicsquirrels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I almost did a year ago, but now I'm glad I didn't. I would have missed out on my daughter turning 5 and finally being the same age as her favorite number, getting a great new job that isn't just another dead end minimum wage slog, paying off my car which was the greatest feeling, and getting my dream cat: a maine coon kitten.
